    Better than Disneyland

I used to do a lot of shooting in the Clovis/Fresno area. In fact, one of the best spots I ever hunted was in an old fig orchard in Northeast Fresno. The squirrels were so abundant that there were dust clouds over the dirt roads they traversed. We would literally have piles of squirrel carcasses...

    Better than Disneyland

I just got off the phone with a farmer friend who is going to show me a new place to hunt pestilent ground squirrels. I can't speak for you fellers, but I would rather have an hour in a new hunting ground than a week at Disneyland. What makes it even more fun is being able to be have it all to...

    Used and/or refurbished?

I often see refurbished items on retailer inventories, how exactly are these things refurbished? Do they get sent to a manufacturer's repair facility? Sometimes I wonder if refurbished just means cleaned up and put in a new pretty box. For those of you who have experience, what do you prefer...

    I occasionally hunt starlings too.

What a coincidence, I have the same problem.

    N/A MOS

I agree. Most of my squirrels are taken with head shots. I don't know where you live so I don't know what species of squirrel(s) you hunt, here in California where I live, ground squirrels are what I go after...and they can be tough as nails. I only hunt pestilent populations in agricultural...

    N/A MOS

The most important measurement of accuracy for any of my fire arms is MOS...minute of squirrel. Anything better than that is for bragging rights at the range. This time of year MOS is a much tighter group as there are weee little juveniles running about.

    Air Arms Old Reliable

That is a gorgeous stock, much prettier than mine. What calibre and what ammo does yours like best? I don't know why people abandon their toys. My gun will not get sold until they put dirt on my coffin.

    Air Arms Old Reliable

My old Air Arms still delivers its packages with terrific accuracy. This model was bought in 2001 and doesn’t have a safety or a regulator, but 30 shots without adding air and still hitting what you aim at speaks for itself. I use JSB 16gr exclusively as it loves them like its first born. My

    Multi-Part Question

Thank you boys- for your support in my corner. Now, can we please get back to the questions I asked?

    Multi-Part Question

MikeW, Admonishment received. Shame on me for asking questions about air guns on a discussion board about air guns without doing my own research. I hang my head in shame.

    Multi-Part Question

My specific questions- When was the first modern commercially manufactured pcp marketed? And by whom? What technological hurtles had to be jumped in order for the modern pcp to come around to where it is now? When and who marketed the first high quality pellets for air gunning? Could a...

    Sensitive Topic

In disclosing this problem, I hope that none of you assumed I would ever consider harming any of my neighbor's pet's. Nor do I advocate breaking any fire arms ordinances in and around my neighborhood. As of yet, I have not intentionally harmed one animal. In fact, I don't think I have the...

    Sensitive Topic

We have lots of feral cats around my neighborhood. I myself am a pet owner and love my animals. I got into air gunning because of ground squirrel issues when I moved into my new house(21 years ago now) and have since done in thousands of them over the years. Lately, their have been old, sick...

What is your most 'precise' airgun?

This S410 is both accurate and precise…no mods, just new seals and a foster connection.

    Fantasy Airgun Time

Pretend you woke up this morning and found that all of your airguns and all the accessories that goes with them(including ammo) are gone. Just for the fun of it, what would you buy(all new, unused) with the following budgets, to get back in the game (gun, extra mags, compressor/pump if you go...

    Any Purists Here?

I’ve yet to meet anybody who is a one hobby enthusiast. Virtually all the people I meet at the range, also love their knives and/or fishing. A lot of the people I meet fishing, also love guns and knives and loud internally combusted petrol burners. My hobbies are shooting(both powder and air)...
