    Lubing Pellets

I like using HBN powder for a lubricant I add some airsoft bb's to a ziplock baggie..then about 1/8 teaspoon of HBN and mix it up until all the bb's look white then add the pellets and tumble them around for a few until they have a been thoroughly coated, but not looking like they are heavily...

Finally made a swaging die that doesn't stink...very much

...lead. Some claim a velocity improvement - hard to say among other variables. I do prefer it to bare lead. Poly coating (basically powder coating) is another option that has some fans among powder burners. If you don't mind sharing your materials, times and temps for hardening and...

does powder coating slow big bore ammo down

I too moved to just using lubalox and Johnsons paste wax mixed together and a tool that lubes and sizes simultaneously. The process for powder coat was too time intense. I do shoot powder coated mostly but buy them in bulk pre done. As for gaining velocity. A light lubing with silicone...

    RAW Rapid Simply RAW (Mini)

Having never handled a RAW air rifle. The material used for the block, is it the same as the Theobens from back when they were blued steel ( my guess ) or billet aluminum and powder coated? I do like a chassis but I much prefer wood and metal. I do prefer the chassis on the RAW then the bland...

    dry lube

Good old fashioned moly powder works great. Dope up some paste wax with moly powder and wax up a a clean barrel. You can tumble your projectiles in moly/wax too. It's like Graphite in many ways. I think it's supposed to be slicker and lasts longer under high pressures. Use the wax with...

1st time slug casting went very well and was fun too.

...easy. i was expecting worse. for now i have mostly used lead from recycled projectiles, so the amounts are not that much at this point. i feel powder coating makes more sense when doing it for bigger quantities, so maybe at a later point, when i make a huge batch of ammo. but thanks for the...

Yes my Texan .510 is finally consistently accurate...Alteast 300-500 powder coated slugs shot...

...s really a waste shooting them at low speeds..Im sure that hard lead water quenched powder coated slugs would be fine up to 2500 fps..But they were just buckets of old nasty greasy wheel weights..Now beautiful accurate free .510 slugs..Powder coating almost free. 1 lb does alot of slugs...

I may give the powder coat a try at some point. Will have to hit up the local thrift stores for a toaster oven.. I think I have a bag of powder here somewhere. It’s black though. I would prefer a bright color that is visible in flight. The black will do for R&D.

...also like slick tracer bullets, i would for one, at the very least to clean my barrel with. Sort of make me a little sad i am not in powder coating anymore, if only we had another color teflon content powder than the dark grey one we had. BTW i made my own mouse pad with this vandal proof...

    Huben GK1 .177

My initial experiments with this made me feel it wasn't worth the effort (compared to knurling). Especially since I'm using NSA's hollow point slugs. Hard to coat them without clogging up the point (or at least clogging it consistently). I'll admit I'm a novice powder coater so YMMV.
