EFT (GP) BR and Silhouette - Williams, AZ - UPDATED INFO ATTACHED

@Martin3528 I noticed on the PDF that it mentions that this is an EFT Grand Prix. I'm not chasing points but maybe mentioning that in the title of this thread would grab another couple shooters who ARE after those GP points (if GP points are being awarded).

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

To help back back on topic... The best long range pellet I've personally found is the .20/15.89. BC of about 0.048. From a 1:17.7, 12 groove Lothar at 915-930fps, it'll hold accuracy out as far as I've tried, which is 270-280yards. I shot it a bunch this past Saturday to 225 yards and they...

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

Yep yep. The safety, price, and convenience of pellets (and even SOME relatively low powered slugs) swing the equation back to airguns.

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

Sorry OP, somewhat off topic but that's kinda where the discussion has lead .... About 12 years ago I was finishing my clinical residencies and found myself in western Nebraska for a few months during the summer. My preceptor came from a farming/ranching family and in the course of discussion...

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

Yep. Was making the point that 350-400 shots taken with pellets is a $12-14 endeavour, whereas that many shots with Altaros slugs would run ya most of the way to $90-100$, something like 6-8x more expensive. So in that regard, yes, very much like shooting firearms.

N/A Choked vs unchoked barrel with pellets and slugs

One of my better slug experiences has been with a slightly choked barrel. And of course the barrel also loves pellets.

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

Slippery slope. SOME pellets can be shot accurately to relatively long range. I spent a couple hours on Sat shooting most of a tin from 10-225yards. And it was only fun cuz they were going where I wanted. And shooting 80-90% of a 500count tin of pellets cost me maybe $12-14. There...

    BRK Ghost Review

Also important to not go down the rabbit hole of number chasing. The concept of aggregation of marginal gains illustrates that there is indeed value in even the small things, and aggregating even small improvements can result in enough of a difference to matter. BUT going down the rabbit hole...

    BRK Ghost Review

I'm not sure I'm following..... If you don't refill the gun when you get down to reg pressure and just keep shooting, the reg gauge will go down too. Once your bottle pressure is below reg pressure, both gauges will read the same (bottle pressure and reg pressure). B/c you simply have less...

    N/A Ft break barrel rifle

Yep. Big fan of the HW50s here. And have shot field target matches with mine, as recently as a couple months ago. For field target you want rifle weight. And at least as important as weight....is fpe output. A strung out, tuned to the max HW50s will just barely make 12fpe, and 9ish fpe is...

    BRK Ghost Review

As I commented a few days ago, that's part of the beauty of the Ghost, various ways to produce the desired fps. And how we choose to get there offers peripheral benefits that allow other uses, or increase efficiency, or shot cycle, or etc.

    BRK Ghost Review

Yep, the barrel kit and spring kit should get you there. As an example....about three weeks ago I was playing with a .22 Ghost HP that's putting out around 60fpe. I lent out my .177 barrel kit and just wanted to make sure everything was still in order with the .177 before I handed it off. So I...

    Joe Shneehagen accident

@12keithdraper has an Idaho location for his AGN profile. He was the OP for the "careful when filling" thread where the photo of the exploded bottle appeared. Joe Shneehagen worked at (owns?) an airgun business in Idaho. So, @12keithdraper, is that the bottle that took Joe's leg?

    MAC1 USFT Analysis/Overview

You must be thinking of @Arzrover's listing for a . 22 blank. It's a 2 groove Benchmark barrel.

Same valve. The varying power outputs are from combinations of: caliber, barrel length, reg pressure, hammer spring, hammer spring tension. Edit: UK sub12 fpe versions may have a different valve, Ive got no direct experience there.

    MAC1 USFT Analysis/Overview

I'll be having some fun with the USFT in the next couple months. A field target friend has a USFT with a barrel that's been giving him trouble, and that barrel came home with me from the last match. I'm going to throw it on my gun and see what's going on. It's also a .177 slow twist poly, so I'm...

    BRK Ghost Review

There are many ways to skin the proverbial cat with configuring the Ghost. Just today for example.... I've lately been pretty pleased with the .20/18.9gr slugs @ 910-915fps. That's the relatively new speed since I added back in the 38grain hammer weight a few months ago. That 910-915fps for...

    BRK Ghost Review

Occasionally I'll pull a patch, and even less frequently I'll pull the barrel and remove the shroud to do a deep clean. Cleaning regimen for every barrel I've played with is different. Some almost never need cleaned, some occasionally need cleaned, some depend on what I'm shooting out of them...
