Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

My regulator adjustment, which I thought was pretty big, didn't seem to do much. Shooting it down, it looked like it is now at 1700-1750psi, about a 10bar difference, and the psi used per shot is still 33.3. That still works out to about 60 shots per fill, so no efficency was lost. I am running...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

Yeah, I understand it just fine. I am still leary of it. Before tightening up the shroud, just the barrel in the threads moves quite a bit. That's asking alot of the shroud to me. I know the grub is just holding the spin and the threads are doing the work, but still. We shall see. The tension is...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

I shot mine down, and would say that the reg was at 1600psi and by the shots I got using 500psi of air, it was on track to get 60 shots. It's still to loud though. I am looking to make a SSS for it, take the trigger group apart and replace that first stage (Lawyer) spring, and turn up the reg...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

Rvaughn, great post, and spot on, nice job with the pictures too. I will be following this post, as I just started working on mine. Having been shooting a Brocock with a 17" barrel and a reg @ 150b for 875fps w/18.13gr, and then shooting this with an 18" barrel and the reg @ 110b same pellet...

One more thing, that no one has mentioned, is the buffer tube is 1.148", in case anyone was thinking of ordering a different stock. This thing looks impressive but I am going to hold off saying more until I really go through it.

Brocock/BRK Brocock Sniper XR Sahara or Commander XR

No, it's a father and son duo. I have been trying to get them into the good pcp's for years, and they finally jumped!

Brocock/BRK Brocock Sniper XR Sahara or Commander XR

GunshipGuy, today we tried out some different moderators on the gun, which is the same as yours but turned up to 31fpe, and has the Odb 110c (sand colored) moderator, the short one. It ended up being the quietest one on the gun too. The other moderators were all oversized so not has effective...

FYI for Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 2-12x

I just received one of these from The Pellet Shop and was pleasantly surprised that it now comes with a 3" sunshade, scope caps, and a nice plastic throw lever for power adjustment.

Brocock/BRK Brocock Sniper XR Sahara or Commander XR

The gun isn't mine, I helped someone new to the sport with picking a good gun to start with. The deal AoA had was too good to pass on. The gun showed up shooting exactly the same as yours, 870fps with the 15.9gr JSB, that's consistency for you!

Brocock/BRK Brocock Sniper XR Sahara or Commander XR

I have taken a few shots with a new BRK Sniper XR Sahara this week. The regulator came set at 125 bar, turned it up to 150 bar and shooting the JSB 18.13gr at 875fps. A very solid unit, and accurate. I recommended the purchase, so I was happy that it turned out great. Nice choice GunshipGuy...

Nice! I almost bought one like that last week but I managed to catch myself. Maybe next time, when you sell yours, I will fall. :)

Good for her! I always thought that this was possible, nice that someone did it.

AEA and JTS .30 pellets 45 grain

I'm right there with you on the maintaining consistency thinking. All these new pellet producers are punching out pellets with all new equipment and dies so it stands to reason that they have good uniformity now. What remains to be seen is how they handle their dies wearing out. Time will tell.

AEA and JTS .30 pellets 45 grain

Great question, and very helpful for the bulk buyer to know. Hopefully somebody will give a definitive answer.

    Technical Airgun Literature?

Trash talk him all you want, but he seems to have figured out enough to show up at competitions all over the world and win. None of, whoever, the silent ballistic geniuses are, out there, have made a more complete video series yet. I look forward to watching any that are made and appreciate the...

Otis, my shooting buddy shows up when steel start ringing....

That's pretty cool! You have mentioned him before but how long has he been coming around for? I would think that his fledglings would follow him there and be hanging out too, at some point. I hear them at night but rarely see an owl during the day so ringing the dinner bell must be the answer.
