    Why the DRS Pro?

Curious so looked it up and 110 fpe max regardless of caliber for NRL22. That'd be 908 fps/110 fpe for the A60gr. You guys using 22 cal are in the low 1000's with the A40 gr IIRC, right? Don't know for sure but might have problems with enough air to finish a stage and maybe the 60gr 25cal...

Which Athlon? For FX Steamline .177 (pcp)

The mil reticle in the Heras 2-12 is in .2 mil hash and is on the thin side. Maybe not the best for hunting against dark backgrounds but for general use it is fine. I could still hit smaller steel on 2x at 50y but took some extra care. It's the same size as my old Nikon 3-9×40 but a little...

    Why the DRS Pro?

Someone more knowledgeable with likely chime in but... Just having that DRS PRO chassis is something that is a great benefit IMHO. I'm imagining those top competitors have highly modified guns though so everything is optimized for these games. Just enough air and fps to finish one stage to...

Airgun Technologies Let’s Vulcan 3 700 mm .25 Cal speak by itself

Nice group. Ammo? Yep these V3's in 25 are a sweet spot in the pcp airgun world.

Scopes with center dots and suitable for hunting?

A suggestion would be to research the center dot size and hash line thickness. For example I had the older Midas TAC 4-16 but sold it because it was hard to see the reticle on low power. They might have changed it for the newer 4-16's but haven't looked into it. People think that one can't hit...

Hold-Over or Dial? …Scope Turret Labels - DYI

I found it best to learn to be proficient both dialing and holding over/off using FFP scopes. If you don't practice holds you lose confidence when doing this, can get confused where to hold, and can pick the wrong hashes unless you pay attention. Holding is faster and dialing is a hair more...

Scopes with center dots and suitable for hunting?

If it's a Midas TAC series then those are FFP.

    I ask why?

I despise using BP and equally pretty much everything about shooting them. Too me they are a total PITA. That being mentioned I know national level BP Silhouette champions and have personally witnessed them put 5" groups on the 500M practice ram with their tangent sights. Their cast bullets are...

Skout Skout EVO precision with slugs

I figured out the trigger problem. The trigger bar was binding some how causing the trigger to intermittently stay stuck back rearmost. I'm not exactly sure where. It was either where the pin goes through the trigger bar or the bar was dragging against the frame. I didn't want to disassemble it...

Skout Skout EVO precision with slugs

Update. My EVO is shooting very precisely still. Just a few days ago it wasn't hard to shoot 2.5" groups at 190Y with the 32.3gr Altaros. Oh and I bought a 3rd magazine. However I encountered yet another new problem. The trigger wasn't resetting all the time so I'll have to figure...

    I ask why?

Don't be short sighted, pun intended. I'm so glad I delved into higher power levels using slugs and by that I don't have one exceeding 99 fpe! With slugs, and unless you've experienced the sensation of hitting small objects at long distances, you couldn't relate to just how fun it is. It's...

    Sightron vs athlon

I'd like to mention that if the diopter isn't adjusted perfectly for each individual's eyes and special care isn't taken to also adjust focus perfectly that one will not be able to judge IQ fairly between scopes. Just last Wednesday I saw this looking through my friends scopes. It can make two...

Athlon Midas TAC gen 2 - Wow!

For some reason I didn't find the IQ very good in the Ares BTR 4.5-27. Had 4 all together, 2 of the G1, and 2 of the G2, and ended up selling them. The ETR's weren't like that though and the IQ was fine. At 30x the IQ was still good.

Athlon Ares ETR UHD: Gen. 1 vs. Gen. 2: What changed?

I'm not sure what's different except the turrets look lower profile and the scope caps look like they screw in to the ocular and objective.

    Reticle $

You save some money going without illumination, like most of the Athlon Midas TAC line. Though if at all possible I prefer true daylight bright illume, which is not common in most scopes. The Athlon Cronus G2 4.5-29×56 has it. Have and not need vs need and not have. I'm recalling three...

    Scope recomendations?

I have friend who had a G1 Argos which he sent back for warranty expecting repair but instead they sent him a new G2 Argos with way better turrets.

    Scope for FX King

With that reticle and price it's probably the older model. Maybe a closeout item. Yet it always was a great scope. Have friends that have done a ton of winning with this scope and it's pretty much their #1 go-to.

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

"Having the distance prior to shot is in itself only a small piece of the required to actually strike the target where wanted" I wouldn't say "small", because we are shooting at circle shapes in the wind, and the smaller that circle is the more critical knowing the distance becomes, and even...
