i dunno .. the way i visualize it, slugs really arnt ideal for airguns period, unless its a set range and you need the penetration for large critters .. its the pronounced airgun 'arc' flightpath imo .. pellets are deisigned to 'fly' it and keep the nose on track, slugs tend to retain the nose...

i got by with a marauder .25 for years with a handpump ...pumping all day isnt going to be attractive, but pesting and several mags here and there, no problem .... i wouldnt say an electric pump is a must unless you move into larger bottle-fed guns or big bores ..

key word is heavy .. some guns got plenty of room for it if theyre shrouded etc ..i think its more of a long range thing though, doubt any measurable improvement in accuracy will be occuring at 50yds with a heavy barrel .. more depends on bore specs condition and quality ..
