    30-Yard Challenge

Thanks Tommy. I’m trying some 40-Masters cards with the .177 Crown and 10.3g - that’s always an adventure. I would try the 13.4g but I think they would shoot too fast with the reg/hammer spring. I don’t want to drip the reg. Perhaps I’ll chrono the 13.4s and see if close to 825… -Ed

    30-Yard Challenge

Great Shooting Tommy and Joe ! I've got some Crown .177 Leaderboard Submissions: 30-Challenge: 197 15X (submitting Master's Card for Challenge Leaderboard) Rifle: FX Crown Mk2 .177 (380mm) Pellet: JSB 10.3g @ 900fps Scope: Sightron SII 36X (fixed power) 40-Challenge: 194 11X Rifle: FX...

    Daystate revere 25 regulated

From the Daystate website, you can expect 20 shots from the 162cc cylinder at 40ft/lbs in .25 caliber. That translates to shooting the 34g at 725fps… or the 25.4g at 840fps. So, relatively low shot count by modern standards but 840fps with the 25.4g seems like a powerful squirrel rifle out to...

RTI Tell me about the original Prophet Performance

Hi Bob, A created an RTI Barrels thread here on AGN that has lots of details. This is basic info on the .25 CZ barrel that came on the Prophet Performance V1 before they switched to the Lothar Walther .25 LR barrel during the last year of production for the Prophet V1: -Ed

    30-Yard Challenge

Leaderboard Submission: 30-Masters: 198 11X Rifle: FX Crown Mk2 .177 (380mm) Scope: Sightron SII 36X Fixed Power Pellet: JSB 10.3g @ 900fps Greg (NAProf) sent me his 380mm .177 Crown barrel to do some “EPG Barrel Prep” on. Greg had installed a Huma slug transfer port on the barrel. I was not...

Athlon Midas TAC gen 2 - Wow!

The 30 ounce weight doesn’t seem too bad, but I don’t have any 34mm rings, lol. 30x would be a perfect upgrade magnification-wise from my 6x24 Midas Tacs.

New N50 2-man club in NC

Don’t believe his humbleness, Taipan Tommy has more 200s up on the Challenge leaderboards than anyone. If its got a trigger, Tommy can shoot it well!

JTS .25 vs JSB .25 vs AEA .25 ? AGNs thoughts?

I bought I bunch of the JTS 29.63g - hoping for a nice 30g solution to fill the gap between the JSB/FX 25.4 and 34g weights (both excellent pellets IMO). My initial testing shows a lot of promise for the JTS 29.63 for precision target work from FX barrels. (see photos). Daystate Renegade HP...

    Daystate Wolverine

Bob, Thanks - I appreciate your insights. You have definitely convinced me not to swap calibers between Wolverine and Renegade because the Renegade is set up with a big plenum because its a tube gun - bottle Wolverines don’t have the ability to use this Huma reg & plenum. I’m going to stick...

RTI Tell me about the original Prophet Performance

Hi Bob, I’ve got 2 Prophet Performance P1s - with .177, .22LR, .25LR (two of these) and .30. I’ve used them in competitions - for speed shooting the left hand cocking is awesome, actually nice for benchrest too as you can keep your right hand on trigger. Its my all-time favorite rifle...

    Daystate Wolverine

Daystate added that “feature” - can’t decock - to the Wolverine R and Wolverine R HP around 2020. I believe Earlier Wolverine Rs were able to be decocked.

    Daystate Wolverine

Interesting - perhaps I’ll stick with the stock hammer in my Renegade HP… Factory unregulated tune it was a beast 895 to 932 to 895 over 30 shots with 34g. I installed a lighter hammer spring and got a nice unregulated string over 40+ shots - power peaking about 165-170 bar. Then I installed...

    Daystate Wolverine

Hi Cavedweller, What makes you say the Blackwolf and Ghost are more efficient with air? They don’t use Daystate’s slingshot hammer and Harper valve - the slingshot hammer being about the best thing Daystate offers vs. their competitors. I know you have extensive experience with all these...

What rifles have you bought twice?

Here is the problem when you buy a rifle that shoots great… and offers easy caliber swaps… … then you buy just a barrel & prode in another caliber and try it… and it also shoots great… …then after a short time, no matter how easy the caliber swap, you wind up buying another duplicate rifle, lol.

    Daystate Wolverine R Trigger Adjustment

Its a beautiful, sunny 30mph wind day here in Connecticut again, so as promised, I tore apart my Wolverine R HP to provide some details on trigger spring optimization - and other tips since I had it apart... Please see photos and read notes. And before anyone says "yeah EPG, you did a BS job...

    Moderator clipping question

This is an excellent, thought provoking line: “often in engineering and commerce, the pursuit of perfection is the enemy of good.” Thinking out loud on this… If a manufacturer controls the whole “ecosystem” - for example Taipan providing moderators as part of their overall airgun design -...

What rifles have you bought twice?

Since I made this post I’ve increased my “doubles” collection: RTI Prophet Performance P1 (have all caliber barrels) FX Crown Mk2 (have all caliber barrels across Dreamline & Crown - they can share barrels) Benjamin Akela .177 FX Dreamline - Classic and Power Pup My Akela .177 is so...

    30-Yard Challenge

Great card Tommy! That should have been a 197 12X if you had paid attention… No mulligans granted here, lol. Although I did put Greg’s awesome “mulligan” card on the leaderboard as incentive for him to try to beat it this year. I remember one time I jokingly asked this crowd for a mulligan on...

    Daystate Wolverine R Trigger Adjustment

I know I took pictures, but I'll struggle to find them as they are not in my Wolverine folder. I'll likely take it apart again and take some pictures and measurements - to help out fellow AGN Wolverine owners. I'll try to do early this week. -Ed
