Tuning Who else enjoys breaking in their springers instead of tuning?

You owe it to yourself to shoot a tuned springer. I had never done so myself and for years was happy with what I had. I bought a used R1 that was a wreck and sent it off for repair and tune, came back a different animal all together. So much so I sent my R9 for a tune also. The difference is...

Have the springers changed in the past 20 years

The quality has gone down and the price has gone up. There are exceptions but this is what I feel in general. With Dr. Beeman out of the game it turned to all quantity and less quality. Some of the most sought after springer there are today came from the late 70's, and 80's. Scope quality has...

    Beeman RX 1

Thinking back, I believe it did. Interesting? We returned to the back yard range where he did some testing only to find out he couldn't hit squat. The barrel was visibly bent.

Any interest in custom leather ?

I slight dead thread resurrection. Did this turn into anything? I have a Wilkins I've just begun to use but it could use some improvements and a magnetic closure would be one of them. Another would some sort of flat back that sat against your body to keep the pouch from rolling around when...

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

From the factory. Barrel cocking guns can maintain astonishing accuracy and consistency over thousands of rounds. If cocking the gun using the barrel as a lever had any affect on this the guns would be incapable of even reasonable accuracy. Beeman used to have a service available to gun buyers...

    Crosman R1 Barrel Swap

I had to look it up. No, he's not. He doesn't realize around here R1 means Spring air gun. He's talking about Crosman military style full auto BB guns. Crosman R1 or Crosman DPMS.

Strange ad on Fleabay - Beeman R1 “new”

Belongs to a member here. I wonder if this is his auction or a scammer? https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/got-an-r1-i-been-missing-out.1281003/ He doesn't mention in the thread about selling it, that I recall.

Tuning Tuning springers. Who does it?

Well, it appears that asking such a service be performed is taboo for some reason. Who worked on these rifles is irrelevant until a good reason is found to name the person. Some of you have put it together, others have not. All I needed is someone with knowledge to look these over and confirm...

Moderator adapters for unthreaded barrels vs having barrel threaded

    My under ground range

I've always wanted an underground range attached to my basement safe room/man cave with heat and ventilation and a motor driven target system, video monitor and refrigerator. Maybe even a TV and computer monitor. Toss is a basement bathroom and a cot and I'd never have to go upstairs.

Tuning Tuning springers. Who does it?

Did some testing today. Using Crosman Premier Domed 7.9gr the R1 was doing an average 962 over five shots. Using Crosman Premier Domed 10.5gr the R1 was doing an average of 805 over five shots. Ten feet from the muzzle, 50 deg, overcast. The same rifle, 7.9gr pellet combo was doing 980 average...

Fwb124D (factory walnut)working for its place in the safe.

The 124/127 broke a lot of barriers and introduced some new things to the air gun world. I feel like it kind of pioneered the modern air gun (springer) era that led other companies to tool up and do better. The FWB124 was unique when it was introduced and being the first offering the attributes...

    HW50 is coming along

This thread has me thinking about a 50S. Would like a gentle rifle for a peep sight I can toy with vs my tuned hot rods. That is one ugly stock, though. Like the one the op has a lot but it appears no longer available.

    My first Springer - TX200

Question: What is the purpose of these giant wheels? I've seen them before an understand they attach to the parallax knob but for what purpose? They seem gangly and in the way.
