I feel for you. At our match today, I couldn't decide between shorts or long pants. I opted for long pants, which was fine but it got up to almost 70 degrees at the end of the match, so I could have gone either way.

I think intention is the key here. It is not legal to adjust your butt pad to allow it to rest on your knee or thigh. It is perfectly legal to bring your knee up to support the rifle. If it wasn't, we wouldn't have adjustable hamsters hanging off the front of our rifles.
