Any Airgun 200 yard bench rest shooter out there?

Don't do it................ We did it in Utah last spring. Everyone had spotters with scopes and trying to see a 22 cal slug hole at 200 yards is difficult, at best. The person I was spotting for was using 22 pellets and you could hear it hit paper but rarely could see where it could hit...

Slug Class for 100y Benchrest - Interested?

Have you thought maybe the slug thing is just manufactures pushing something new so they can make sales goals. Slugs working is very much a hit and miss thing, a given that any one slug isn't great in every gun by one manufacture. FX makes slugs and they aren't the best slug to shoot out of an...

Slug Class for 100y Benchrest - Interested?

Maybe everyone looking for long range accuracy could sell their airguns and just shoot powder burners. The powder burners are cheaper and already have competitions in place. o_O

Slug Class for 100y Benchrest - Interested?

Like it or not it is likely coming. My opinion is that slugs just makes it easier, less wind drift, less drop with the higher BC's makes it easier for those that prefer not to develop skills just purchase them. If we go to slugs maybe we just limit calibers to distance: 0-100 yards - .177...

    Ghost vs Impact M4

No they don't! But the moderator of this forum has made it clear to me in the past that not getting $$$ from certain entities that information can be slanted to those that do pay up. If you want my honest opinion come asked the question over on the Hard Air Magazine Forum. It is obvious on...

    Events Extreme Benchrest 2024

Well yes..... But being my first time to N50 it was a learning experience. I know you consider N50 the F1 of airguning and now I know why. I would have come back to N50 but decided 3 weeks of competitions might be more then I needed. My point to the thread was NoFilters seemed to want to...

    Events Extreme Benchrest 2024

Could be the smaller EFT's could be the way for you to go. I attended 4 this year and all but 1 had 100 benchrest as well as the EFT. There are 80 spots in the EFT for EBR as that's as many people can get through in a day. The smaller EFT's all had 2 trips through the EFT course plus a...

    Help with Kraford and Lypt

I'm in a similar situation. I ordered a Drake rail in June for a Ghost and still haven't heard from them. K&L took the money but no sight of a rail. I have called several times only to have no answers and the same with the emails. I'm wondering is they are even still in business or maybe...

    Resources Tirrell/Thomas Death Star

Fun thread! Personally I would call the N50 Machine Rest as it just doesn't seem right to not be in control of the rifle. I think it is much more pure to use a bipod and bag and call it good. In fact I wouldn't be apposed to bipod only. I do agree that only one finals card is weak and I...

Winning score RMAC/EBR - how good relatively?

Yes I see what you did but even the average scores continue to rise. Its not a bad thing the question I see becomes are the guns getting better or is it the shooters getting better.

Winning score RMAC/EBR - how good relatively?

More shooters and more shooters are getting better. I also think if you look at the winning scores over the years it shows the guns are also getting much better. So then one would have to think about a way to measure whether it is more shooters, better shooters or better guns? EBR winning...

Weighed out a tin of .25 JSB 33.95 MK 2's

I shoot for accuracy so I clean, oil and weigh all my pellets. In JSB supposedly 33.95gr, I get a range over 5 tins of 300 33.5 to 35.0 grains. In terms of spread of I keep 33.8 to 34.6 in groups of .1 grains. I throw away all the under and over pellets which in this case ended up being 29%...

Pellet quality control down the tubes!

Interesting point of view. In competitions I have not seen H&N's being used at 50 or 100 yards. Does anyone have experience using H&N's in competition? I would love to find a better pellet than JSB but at least they have updated some designs in the last 10 years. It would seem no...

    USARB Introduction

Mark, Thanks for the work in moving benchrest forward. I have some opinions and ideas use what you like. I would like to see more competitions and a national champion. I think the 25 and 50 yard/meters is perfect and would shoot any of them. Personally the money going into the 100 yard...
