    Crazy price of used guns

I use a sliding scale. Got a like new model unmodified that is no longer the latest generation? 50% of list seems reasonable. Is it the latest generation NIB and not in stock at the retailers right now - maybe 80-100% of list. Got a high end gun that involves long lead times or is NLA? 80%...

    BR Questions

I shoot informal benchrest using a one or two piece rest and my rifle with a 3” flat forensic adapter. I shoot using free recoil technique. It’s very accurate and less for the shooter to screw up but it’s a little slower. Get some wind flags you’ll be pissin into the wind without them. If...

    Highest bc 30 cal pellet

There isn’t one answer. The published BCs are only approximations.

    Highest bc 30 cal pellet

The 45s and 50s are all very close in BC, I'd order some of each and listen to the gun.

This upsets me because it is not helpful

Budget is a word with many meanings. I agree it’s unhelpful when then budget is $500 and the suggestions completely disregard that. That said there are reasons to go outside of a stated budget or ask to understand it better. - stated goal or use conflicts with the budget - if the budget can...

    Holy Grail for HFT ?

For a purchase like this I’d probably make the trip up to EuroOptic and test it in person.

Digital pressure gauge for Brancato Great White

    1) the rubber cap is lost. I could try to drain the glycerin but that will take a while and probably keep leaking for a while. The needle may vibrate excessively too. 2) my compressor does not have an automatic shutoff and it’s across the garage from my workbench. So ideally I could have a...

    Resources A word question - ?

Yeah in the sense of this definition the gun is the horse or race car. I think it’s more of an English (UK) thing.

    Break barrel safety

I’m trying to get into the habit 100% also. I think it’s important with any airgun to develop a routine and never deviate from it. In golf it helps you take good shots and I think it helps shooting too. But more importantly you can build safety into your pre shot routine.

Digital pressure gauge for Brancato Great White

The liquid-filled Wika gauge on my Great White has taken a dump. I'd like to put a similarly sized digital gauge on but I'm not seeing any with a center-back 1/4 NPT mount. Any suggestions?

    New pellet

Me personally I’d stick to under 13.x and 14.x pellets. If it’s a magnum powered .22 springer I’d also test 15.9 and 18gr. I’m no expert here though.

    New pellet

I have never found a particular trend about what pellets a gun will shoot best (unless it was tuned and the tuner is telling me which pellet it was tuned on). So the answer is to just test everything you can afford to test on. Oh there is another exception: I stick with the recommended weights...

    FX FX Crown adding weight

I think you’ll also need the thin-collar fill probe to reach the Foster fill probe when it’s in a GRS. I agree the GRS makes for a very light rifle. I never weighed mine but it’s as light as any gun ever owned in that size. If adding weight is important to you, where do you want the weight...

    Strictly off hand…

I’m pretty sure my 2-3” groups sizes at 20y shrink by 1/8” when I use a match rifle. Also I hang around some very (very!) experienced 10m shooters. Don’t buy the jacket or pants if you want to improve as a shooter. Only buy those if you want a quick boost in score and wish to slow developing...
