Bass pro shop says state police notified them anything over .177 and anything over 700 fps is foid required I live in Peoria

I would love to know who you talked to about this because bass pro shop directed me to state police and they say 177 can not go above 700 or its a fire arm I hope your right and love to know the real truth

Fire arm identification card is called foid card in Illinois. I am looking for break barrel or co2 22 air rifle or between 600 to 695 for hunting squirrel and rabbit I'm just kinda lost looking through all the different types don't want a pump and most rifles I see are at least 1000 fps
