Welcome Marble-8. I'm pretty new here myself - I started shooting air guns about two years ago and am having a blast doing it. Now I've got 4 blowback air pistols and several rifles. Great fun chasing one hole results with these things. Enjoy!

I ran a skill saw set at a depth of 1/8 inch the length of a 2 x 4 and lined up a bunch of poker chips in the kerf. Worked fine but there was cleanup required. I like your wafer idea better than the poker chips. 

I enjoyed this video - it made me glad I have a Chief on back-order. After I get it sighted in, his groups seem like something to work toward! My first hunting was with a cheapie .22 single-shot rimfire. It shot better than I could hold and I expect the Chief will also.
