This is exactly my experience in HW77. The FTTs shoot 16 FPE right along with the JSB and JTS 18 gr heavies. Anything else is shooting 13-14.5 FPE and the shot cycle is bunk. I’m still searching for the best pellet. Considering trying some of the 20-22gr options.

I made an aggregate analysis of OP’s 25 yard groups. Not perfect, but close.

We can agree to disagree. I like 5 shot groups aggregated into 20-30s. After 5 the card is too ragged to know where they all went. Over 20-30 and I can’t keep them straight in the measurement app. Fatigue is definitely a component to minimize as well.

Could also just be a bit of canting the gun left or right. But at these short ranges, I’m more inclined to believe it’s just the wind shifting directions.

Hard to get representative groups at 50. Even a gentle wind is moving most pellets on the magnitude of inches at that range. If the wind switches even once, your group goes from 1 moa to 2-3 moa

My 77 only likes 5.52 JSB heavies and 5.54 FTTs. Anything else and it will double the group size. Sometimes that’s just the way it goes.

It just comes down to the innate intricacies of that barrel and that projectile. There are a lot of not so easily quantifiable mechanical interactions going on that determine the accuracy. There really isn’t a hard and fast rule to give you an satisfying answer.
