    HELP

Have you done a deadhead test? Sometimes the problem is downstream from the compressor. For example, I once had a similar experience filling a tank. The tank bleed screw was not fully seated and would develop a very slow leak at any pressure over 200 Bar. Since then, I've always been careful...

    Tuning Regulator Question

You ask some really interesting questions. Let me try to answer them. 1. My rifle has one internal regulator, a 300 cc high pressure bottle, and a 156 cc regulated plenum. 2. The 300 cc bottle is tethered to an external regulator. 3. The internal regulator is a HUMA which is a particular pain...

    Tuning Regulator Question

This is how I currently run the gun - except that I set the external reg above 200 Bar to help assure quick recovery on the internal reg. I would like to have a finer and faster means to adjust the regulated plenum. The external reg provides that functionality but I don't want to do anything...

    Tuning Regulator Question

This is a late reply but it's taken quite a bit of tinkering with this rifle to be able to post a meaningful response. The HUMA regulator in my Panthera does, in fact follow bottle pressure. I adjusted the reg to 115 Bar with the bottle pressurized to 230 Bar. I then shot the bottle down to...

N/A Got an accurate gun? 100 yard 5x5 challenge

The .22 700 Panthera is coming along as a dedicated, tethered bench gun at 100 yards. I'm just about ready to try it at 200. The turning point in getting this rifle to shoot was the replacement of A12 (valvetube end) with new part No. FX21004. The new part does not have the two clamp screws...

N/A Got an accurate gun? 100 yard 5x5 challenge

I've been working steadily to improve the performance on my .22 700 Panthera. Based on some very good advise received from this Forum, I switched to 40 grain Altaros King slugs and 40.1 grain ACE slugs and lowered the reg pressure. The the attached target was shot at 100 yards with both the...

    17 shot mag, 7 sighters, 9/10 impacts on a 4” gong at 200 yards - ACE slugs!

One can only hope. I'm going to call and see if there is a wait list. JackHughs

new to PCP and need a portable compressor

If the price difference is not too great, I prefer to buy something I can grow into rather than something that will quickly become obsolete. If you may be filling tanks in the future, the best value portable compressor available at this time is the GX CS4. JackHughs

First time out to 200 yards with Panthera and Altaros

Many thanks to CanMike for posting his reg and hammer settings. I followed his advise and my heretofore clunky .22 700 Panthera came to life. I have the reg set at 125 bar because I wanted to start a bit low and work up to 130 bar. However, the rifle was performing so well, I just left it at...

Omega CF tank Dual Guage Replacement?

The valve you have appears to be a "Jubilee." I have two tanks with this valve and both valves are excellent. You might want to consider saving the cost of a replacement valve and just doing deadhead tests to determine the pressure in your tank. JackHughs

First time out to 200 yards with Panthera and Altaros

The issues you describe at 150 Bar are the same issues I'm having at 145 Bar. I will lower the reg pressure to 130 bar but this gun has a Huma reg. I do need to de-gas first - not a problem. You're also spot-on regarding running on the plateau. For my rifle, I have to run close to the plateau...

First time out to 200 yards with Panthera and Altaros

I have a .22 700 Panthera so your post is of particular interest. I've been running the reg on my rifle at 145 Bar. When I shoot the 40 grain Altaros slugs at 930 fps, I get very good but inconsistent results at 100 yards. I think that the hammer strike needed to achieve 930 fps at 145 Bar is...

What is the best pellets and slugs for mk2 impact 700mm barrel?

I have an unmodified .22 700 mm Impact Mk II. At 135 Bar reg and 925 fps, It prefers JSB 25.39 pellets but only certain lots shoot really well. JackHughs

    N/A 100yds groups ....No "White Lies"... No " B.S." ... just be honest ..

My Panthera is driving me mad! Check out the target - groups numbered 1 through 5. All shot with the same slugs (from the same tin), the same MV, in the same conditions. The rifle is tethered and shot from a very sturdy Randolph front rest with an Edgewood rear bag. The scope is a Nightforce...

    Shark Tank vs Omega Tank

One DOT certified CF 9 liter tank is very much the same any other DOT certified CF 9 liter Tank. The various manufactured valves and fill whips are all very much different from each other. Pick the valve you like and buy accordingly. I had a JB valve at one time and I didn't like it. It may...

    Air hose inanity

AOA sells an excellent 36" whip. It is light, flexible, very well made, and can be purchased with or without fittings. I have two of these. JackHughs

When did you turn the grease pot for the first time ?

Three hours. That's when I checked to see if there was an air bubble in the grease. I didn't notice any change in performance so I assume that the compressor was not over greased. JackHughs

    Amazon SCBA adapter for refill

I have the 5/8" version of the Amazon fill station on a 3 liter Tuxing tank. It works fine and has the added bonus of a separate fill fitting. This fitting allows "cascading" another tank. JackHughs
