N/A Sheridan Blue Streak + receiver sight

I got the sight in and notice that it only uses one screw to attach to the rifle. I am now thinking of having the receiver d/t and using some of that adhesive also. Spoke too soon on that one, it does have two screws to attach to the gun. It shipped with one in place under the elevation...

How much of this hobby is nostalgia ?

Nostalgia, no. I had a couple of Daisy BB guns growing up. Then when I learned of them got a top quality air rifle, a FWB 124d while in the USAF. I was stationed in Florida, living in base housing and there was not good range available for me to shoot my firearms. That one has expanded...

N/A Sheridan Blue Streak + receiver sight

I have a drill press and a tap set, but my eyes are not good for close up work any longer, and fingers a bit on the stiff side, so I tend to try and support the local smith whenever possible.

    Brown Truck

I used to have a little Lab mix dog. She did not like the truck, in fact tried to chase it, cut in front and got hit. Some surgery to set the bone. If the driver pulled into the driveway she would hop up into the truck to help him unload the package.

N/A Sheridan Blue Streak + receiver sight

Oh yes, I agree, a receiver sight is a big improvement. Most of my springers that have front sights have receiver sights, a couple with Williams sights, several with vintage Anschutz sights and 4 FWB target guns with FWB sights, several have Gehman adjustable apertures. Then quite a few lyman...

N/A Sheridan Blue Streak + receiver sight

That's what I am thinking. Is removing the bolt much of a problem? I suspect that I will take it to my gunsmith to have it installed. The gun I am expecting does not have the rocker safety.

N/A Sheridan Blue Streak + receiver sight

I have on order a Sheridan Blue Streak one with the thumb safety. It should be delivered in a couple of days. I am wanting to put a receiver sight on it and am wondering, if it is not factory drilled and tapped for the Williams sight, can it be done without a lot of trouble.

Airgun Technologies The Future of Springers – Are We Still in the Game?

I have read about those on and off for 50 years now. I understand that you needed small glass ampules of ether, which are no longer available. It was commonly called a diesel rifle. I just wonder what it did to seals and springs.

Curly Cherry For The Barra 250Z

What does the oven cleaner do to the wood. I presume it gives that deep amber like a linseed oil finish exposed to light for years. My concern would be alkali residues making the metal corrode.

Using an airgun at the 22 long rifle range.

I have done it. The Ouachita Parish range, operated by the sheriffs dept. They have a 200 yard rifle range then a pistol range that goes out to 50 yards. Rimfire rifles and rifles of pistol calibers are allowed on the rifle range as well as air guns. Last time I was there I had an air rifle...

Do we need to rename the "Traditional Airguns" forum?

I agre with Avator to a point. To me classic styled wood and blued steel. I see some wooden stocks that are over the moon that I would not call traditional, usually on PCP type guns. Traditional can be a springer, gas piston, pump up, or some PCP types, just something along the general lines...

    Your first....

It is! It is still one of the easiest cocking, best handling of any of the guns I have. Early this year I managed to acquire, at considerable expense, a couple of much older FWB 150 target rifles. They look more like a sporter than the next generation model 300 series, and are not quite as...

    Sheridan Blue streak

Just ordered one, seller says resealed, new bolt springs and inlet valve. Pics look good. Also ordered a Williams receiver sight for it. After over 50 years with springers this will be my first pump up. My cousins grandfather had one and I shot it back around 1959-1960 and was impressed as...
