I was thinking about buying a new set of binoculars in the 8-10x range and ran across a video about monoculars and it got me to thinking there could be some pros and cons to going down that road. Does anyone use a monocular and care to comment?
Don't worry about talking me into something I didn't want. It's not my first 34mm tube and I do like the extra magnification. If I decided somewhere down the road that I wanted the lighter version, this scope would migrate to another rifle and still be put to good use.
I would have been happy with the 4-20 but it wasn't available. For some strange reason my FFP scopes usually end up on 10x when I'm using them, unless I'm shooting on the bench or longer distances.
The scope arrived today and I definitely like it. It has some weight to it, but that is what it is. I don't think there's such a thing as a light 34mm tube scope. I have Vortex high rings for it and it will be going on my Delta Wolf.
I was shooting the 25gr JSBs around 650fps with the 380mm liner in my Crown MK2 with good results. The same pellets out of the 600mm liner around 900fps were very good also. I'm shooting the 35gr JSBs around 900fps with my Ghost and they are very good. I haven't tried any of the other vendors...
I ordered a .22cal Delta Wolf and was wondering what the new 25gr Redesigned pellets were like with these barrels. If anyone has experience with the 28gr Jumbo Grands I would be interested in hearing that also.
