N/A What was your First Airgun?

Never mind the interloper Red Ryder, the Crosman V350 from around circa 1962 and the Crosman 140 from around 1964, both Christmas presents, could be off a year, long time ago. Both still shoot just fine.

Sheridan Steroid Pumpers - Sheridan Benjamin Crosman

As stated, these rifles are typically stored with pressure just like a PCP. The answer is forever, essentially. I keep about 4 pumps on stock C140 and the B392 and 5 to 6 pumps on my 392 Steroid per instructions.

I don't think CPR on a raccoon would work for lead poisoning

Rabies is transmitted by saliva. Raccoons lick their paws, even a tiny scratch from that animal could transmit the virus. Very risky. It could have awaken and bit or scratched and then run off into the woods. Then what?

    Benjamin My Benjamin 392 Steroid

On evening animal patrol I found some of my diggers. Two skunks. One saw me and moved away but the other came my way. I prefer to body shot or Texas heart shot skunks but he coming my way with tail up, I took my best aim on the noggin. He rolled and came up but went back down DRT. No spray, or...

    Benjamin My Benjamin 392 Steroid

Did a little more testing this morning. Shot at 10 yards because that kept me in the shade. I ran 8 pumps and 5 shot groups. This off a bench with the Caldwell Stinger rest. With 2X BSA scope. Typical strings below. (JSB Hades 15.89) Individual impact on and around the bullseye about 1.0...

N/A Which PCP has the most aftermarket support

Of the more expensive Euro PCP rifles like the FX M(X+1) series of flexi-flyers and rifles like the Ghost or Blackwolf or BRK and similar, which ones have the most useful accessories and custom parts for me to spend even more disposable income upon? Things that make the rifle yours and also add...

    Non-lead Predator GTO's or H&N Baracuda's vs. good ol' JSB's...any thoughts?

Oh, cool, I was not aware H&N had an alloy pellet. I may grab some. Being a little heavier than the GTOs they may be easier to keep in a good velocity range and carry a little farther :).

    Benjamin My Benjamin 392 Steroid

Benji 392 Steroid power (CPHP 14.3 at 8 pumps for 715 fps) vs Benji .25 M-Rod SL power (JSB 34 Exact Heavy at 900 fps for 60 fpe) vs steel chair back. The big holes are the M-Rod, the nice dent the stick is pointing to is the 392 Steroid :D.

    Non-lead Predator GTO's or H&N Baracuda's vs. good ol' JSB's...any thoughts?

H&N Barracuda are lead pellets so might as well use JSBs. I get good accuracy with the GTO pellets but I have to turn the power down quite a bit on my .25 M-Rod to keep them from going supersonic. My strongest M-Rod shoots 34 grain JSBs at 900 fps (and it is not maxed out) for 16+ shots on the...

    Benjamin My Benjamin 392 Steroid

Did a little shooting with the JSB 18.3 Exact Heavy pellets through the Steroid this morning. I get an average with very little deviation of 645 fps for 16.9 fpe for 8 pumps. These made a loose ragged hole at 10 yards. They hit slightly lower and to the left of the CPHP by about 1/2 inch. I like...

    HW/Weihrauch .25 springer

Curious, if you do not hunt and do not target practice, what do you use a spring rifle for . If not hunting/pesting or target shooting what else is there. Well, okay, plinking at dirt clods and bottle caps and poor grasshoppers, that can be fun! I simply will not accept a rifle longer...

    HW/Weihrauch .25 springer

The Remington is the same rifle as the wood stocked Benjamin XL Nitro piston rifle which also broke scopes and walked scopes and even broke the welded on rail. So what portable (7 pounds or less and under 40 inches length) quality .25 springer is suggested that can make 24 to 30 fpe? Is there...

    Air tank not DOT approved

I think you confuse me with the OP, :). But, sure, yes, please send me all of your dangerous non DOT air rifles, please, cuz you have the good stuff  ! Kind of like carrying ammo to the range or gasoline in a private pu truck for the lawnmower, or go to the Walmart and pick up a propane...

    Air tank not DOT approved

Private use only you are good to go. The DOT is a requirment for commerical purposes. This gets argued to infinity and beyond in the scuba world. If it bothers you then do not transport it and do not pull the tags from your mattresses ;).

Pumpers the Toyota Corolla of air guns

We wll just have to agree to disagree. The 397/392/Streaks have a higher parts count than a M-Rod and just about as many seals. Not sure what you mean by premium, confusing. I have four M-Rods, two Urbans and a new 3622 and none of them have been leak prone anymore than the pump rifles of which...

    HW/Weihrauch .25 springer

I had a Remington Nitro spring in .25 caliber. It was fairly accurate enough to 20 yards. It bucked like a mule and was totally obnoxious as it would slap my face with each shot. It made about 24 fpe. I shot the standard 25.39 JSB pellets in it. I gave it away on this forum for shipping. There...

    Does your head spin?

This is really simple. Cabela's/Bass Pro and Academy have the Crosman 3622 kit with pump for around $250. Super light, fun to shoot, accurate enough and power enough for squirrels and rabbits. And the rifle is little, light in weight and gets 24 shots at 16 fpe out of the box. The other no...
