The faster you fill, the more the bottle will heat up and you’ll lose some pressure to cooling. My Alkin fills fast enough that I will typically fill 3 bottles, and come back an hour later to top off. I’m never in such a hurry that a slower fill would be a problem. Nothing wrong with slow.

To some degree, yes. Seals/ o-rings can and will degrade with age, not really damaging to the gun itself, but requiring maintenance. PCP’s can have a few, or a few dozen o-rings.

You have way too much hammer for your use case. I would lose the hammer weight and consider putting the pellet probe back in. You are set up for slugs currently. I found the pin probe did not seat the pellet beyond the transfer port on my Wildcat, partially blocking the airflow.

Is it possible that you over-tightened the gauge, and thus closed off the airflow to the gauge? Those white plastic seals have been known to cause that.
