does anybody remember the old old Yellow forum?not for the faint of heart""

yep.. I recall all that... and in fact, was one of the ones who paid a down payment on a Caiman airgun and didnt get anything... and also one of the few here in the states who had one in hand. Was sent to me for a review. At the time, I was doing quite a lot of reviews on airguns. Was a...

Fun Supply was awesome as was the Yellow under Mr. Kitching. Slowly started going to pot after that. Battles between factions over Crosman doo dads ended up with the GTA forum being formed. Lots of drama and such back in those days. At least it was active. Nowadays, it's drier than a...

    "High End Airgun" Factory Tour

I'm exceedingly impressed with them all. I've gone down the rabbit hole of watching blacksmithing, turning and wood working vids before from folks with similar means and I'm always in awe of what they can accomplish with so little. Really shows how spoiled we are here!

@DeanB Thank you, sir. As the weather cools off a bit and I can fire up the forge without sweating my balls off, I'll likely get back to some knives and forged items and give the lathe a rest for a bit!

    N/A Fill Port Silicon Oil

I think this may have come from the notion that adding a drop of Pellgun Oil on the tip of a CO2 cart will blow oil through the whole gun. I read about that a while back from Tom Gaylord, who was still pretending to NOT be Tom Gaylord at the time and was writing as BB Pelletier. I'd read it...

Anyone think they have no rats or night pests in their back yard and then bought a Night scope and got a surprise?

Same here... all manner of night time critters here, though I've yet to see a chupacabra. I think I'm too far East for them.

Other thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

It's not a problem... it's a fortunate preference that opens yourself to all possibilities! ;)

Other thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

I love them all... both with air and powder. I dont discriminate. They all have a place in my gun room.

Crosman Breath New Life into Crosman 2240

Speaking of cocking pin, you'll need a longer cocking pin. I have it 'somewhere' and will look later, but wouldnt be hard for you to fabricate.

Crosman Breath New Life into Crosman 2240

You are correct... there arent a lot of options for high breeches. Which is why years ago, I bought or traded for a spacer with the cocking pin, etc, etc cut out already. Be easier to make than a breech. Fits right over the 2240 tube. Will need a steel breech though, some longer screws...

What are your thoughts on lead exposure?

As a kid, I would keep an extra few pellets in my mouth while hunting. I would use my teeth to close split shots while fishing. While I no longer use split shot...and dont keep pellets in my mouth any more, I am less than fastidious about hand washing after handling pellets or casting...

Newbie (with physical limitations) needs your Experienced Input/Confirmation Please

This is what I was thinking if was basic neighborhood squirrel control and ease of use is paramount. Too bad the 850 is discontinued. Was an excellent CO2 gun and easily transformed to HPA. A nice QB78 would fit the bill as well, but I guess those are now under 'Beeman' brand. Cant speak to...

Airforce Airforce CondorSS .22; your choice for the most accurate standard pellet

yes sir... I've owned dozens of AF rifles and so have a fair amount of experience with them. There are some here on the forum who are much more into them and can also help out, so ask away. If you're really new to the platform and would like to discuss, hit me on DM and we can set up a phone...

Airforce Airforce CondorSS .22; your choice for the most accurate standard pellet

JSB 18gr. The challenge with the Condors will be getting it low enough to be accurate. Unless you go with the inserts in the tophat, typically what you can do is try a fill pressure around 2400-2500 and pop an o ring behind the top hat. Chrony will be ultra helpful to see where your shots...
