Probably accurate enough for half that distance.

How Did You Get Started - Tell Your Story!

First BB gun was daisy pal in 4rth grade. Got a 10 pumper a year later, and followed with another every couple years when they wore out. Stopped with airguns when I hit 18. The house I bought in 2000 had space to shoot powderburners until houses got built around me. A few years back, my wife...

    Other Break Barrel VS. Underlever

I think the average better accuracy of underlevers comes from the TX200 and HW97 having more weight and modest power output. As long as there is no lockup issues with a breakbarrel, it should be just as accurate, but less weight means more recoil. I only had one RWS48, but even after a tune...

    So Damn Hot!!

It was almost cold here in Fort Worth yesterday. 80 degrees had me closing up my jacket on the ride in to work at 4 am. Got rained on a bit on the ride home. Headed out for a couple hour mountain bike ride since it was only 92 after getting home from work.

Crosman Crosman 1377 pellet choice question

Normally they like Crosman 7.9 premiers, but those seem to have gone away. The next I would try, are H+N ftt and JSB Exact 8.4. Is this a new or old 1377? Crosman barrels used to be pretty accurate, but sometimes respond good to a redneck recrown.

    Squirrel vs rattlesnake

At Caprock Canyon State park they warn you to watch for rattlesnakes around camps, because they get the rattles bit off by prairie dogs.

Beeman How to tell if a springer needs tuning?

Shoot it, does it buzz or twang more than you think it should? Issues with seals will show an extreme spread of velocities on the chronograph. Can't go by velocity alone, the previous owner may have tuned it with a 12 ft lb kit.

New to HFT and looking for advice on Pellets

13 to 14 grain pellets are going to be your best choice. Those, at 20 ft lb, have about the same trajectory as the 12 ft lb wftf shooters with .177. If you stick with the game, you will be in search of a .177 rifle sooner than later.

Crosman Premier and JSB 7.87 is what I would start with after skimming Tom Galord's review.

do match grade pellts really shot that better?

Consistency is important. Pellet to barrel fit is important. Going to another pellet because it is a "match" pellet may or may not be an improvement on what you have. Maybe it is time for you to spend some time sorting your 18 gr pellets with a Pelletgauge.

Airgun Technologies The Future of Springers – Are We Still in the Game?

The last attempt was the Sig ASP20. It had a new attempt at consistent lockup for a break barrel. The only high quality gas ram that was made in the U.S. Didn't sell in enough numbers to be worth making, so...

Spring piston rifle scope not holding zero

Loctite everything on a springer and torque to specs with a proper torque wrench. Unfourtunately, what you are seeing can be fairly normal hold sensitivity for a cheap springer.

    Resources Need advice

To get a good start on scope setup, you want to zero at the apex of the pellet trajectory. That will be 25 to 27 yards for a 20 ft lb .22 shooting Hand N FTTs. From there you holdover for both closer and further targets. work out where in your mil dots you have to hold from 9 to 60 yards...

    Resources Need advice

Start with the Discovery. You will find its limits fairly quickly, but don't go down the rabbit hole trying to mod it. You will want a better .177 rifle soon. Start learning to range targets and work up a trajectory chart for it.

N/A old man that is newby to air guns

Break barrels are too weak to be much use in .25. A good .22 will be good to 30 yards if you can get the distance that close.

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

We have had a match director do that twice. He put the ranges on the back of the scorecards at a club match as an experiment. Didn't cause any change in anyones scores from their average.
