N/A What should I sell my FX Maverick Sniper .22 at?

The market is soft for used guns. They are still selling but for huge discounts. I just sold my Panthera Compact 30. It had been on the shelf as a consignment for several months. It took 40% off retail and throwing in a 480cc bottle for it. I probably should have just kept it a that price but...

AEA It is going to get CRAZY in the pcp big game air rifles!

Years ago Savage Arms developed a muzzleloader that used smokeless powder. It was supposed to be the end of black powder muzzle loaders. It never made it in the market. It erased the line between short range and limited power and regular PB’s. I think AEA will discovered the same issue. We...

FX Anyone installed a 480cc or Larger tank on their M4 Compact?

valid as it gets. You are only talking about 2” more barrel and the bottle will stick out that much further than the 500mm barrel. Plus your shot count goes up a bit with the longer barrel.

    FX Wildcat consistency problems

I have been watching your threads with interest. I have a Maverick that started life as a 25 cal Compact and now lives as a 22 cal 600mm pellet shooter. I shoot 25.39’s from it. I had a bit of a struggle with the transition from 25 to 22. I don’t know what barrel length you have, but with the...

Tuning A tuning test for the experts

Generally speaking the results you show would have me backing off the hammer until I saw a velocity drop of about 5%. If the ES and SD’s don’t tighten up You need to look at your projectiles. You are trying to achieve consistency over velocity.

    Coyote suggestions

Try it!!! You may find what I did. I am getting addicted to calling coyotes. Killing them is secondary. They are a serious challenge with an air gun.

Appreciate the input. I will stick with what I am using.

    Coyote suggestions

I am really getting into this coyote calling with an air gun. Three times out and all three have resulted in Coyotes wIthin range and only my ignorance preventing success. Today it all came together. Called two in at once. One got within 35 yards but stayed behind a sagebrush but the other one...

    I ask why?

what is the problem with more power? I look at air guns like I do fly fisherman. Some guys like little itsy bitsy flies with a 2 wt rod. Others like an 8 wt throwing big streamers. There is room for all of us without raising our eyebrows at each other’s choices.

Brocock/BRK Atomic XR I need some help from the BRK crew

I bought this one used. Hard to say what may have happened before I got it. Mine came with the an external hammer adjuster that is made by a subsidiary of AOA. The gun was not shooting well when I got it. I should say it was not like shotgun patters but it should do better than 3/4” @ 20 yards...

Brocock/BRK Atomic XR I need some help from the BRK crew

The observed velocities were with a chronograph. That was Wednesday while I was setting up the scope and trying some different pellets and hammer adjustment. During this time the tech at the shop mentioned the sound. The more noticeable sound was yesterday and that is when the pellets lost...

Brocock/BRK Atomic XR I need some help from the BRK crew

I recently purchased a used Atomic XR. Wanting a pistol carbine sized gun and the Atomic looked the best option. Do not take the rest of this post as any condemnation of the gun. It is very well built and all accounts I have read point to a quality, reliable lower powered gun. I have been...

How many of you have been holding off on new ags?

I have enough air guns now and am slowly weeding out the herd. I have doubts as to what constitutes an upgrade anymore. If you are shooting pellets they perform (generally) best at moderate speeds so there is no gain in power that would qualify as an upgrade. I have watched at the local...

FX Help with tuning Wildcat down

Screw the IHS in all the way and if that is not enough raise your 2nd reg until the plenum pressure starts shutting the valve faster. If you want 880 fps or so, raise the 2nd reg until your velocities drop to about 820-830 fps. Then you can start backing the IHS out until you get to the 880’s...

Utah Airguns Moving Sale 6/30/25 - Save Up To 50% Off

Saying UA and Sale in the same sentence is an oxymoron. They used to be my go to source for supplies. Now they are the last resort. Not only has pricing gotten high, but service and knowledgeable are a rarity. I hope Justin reads this thread and rethinks his path. They used to be great. twelve...

FX Help with tuning Wildcat down

Look and make sure there isn’t a washer on your hammer weight. If I remember my Maverick Sniper had one and it made a significant difference in the power level. If not as 6gun said, check your power wheel setting. How long of a barrel do you have on the WC?

RAW Rapid Are higher powered PCP's more difficult to shoot accurately?

I have found tweaking a gun to operate at it’s max or near max potential usually ends up making a finicky gun. I prefer to let my guns operate in a more relaxed state. Harmonics seem easier to tame when you are not trying to make a PB out of an AG. I think people forget that they are shooting an...

    Fx maverick

I have owned 2 of them. My first was a 22 Sniper. It was a great gun but sold it and moved to the M3. The second one is a 25 compact. It has spent a little time as a 22 compact and in the winter it serves as my indoor league gun as a 600mm 22. Very easy to change between barrels and calibers.

    A good farm gun ?

FX Panthera Comapct Hunter in 30. Cal. It will be overkill on the birds but throw in foxes and I would want a 25 cal. Add Coyotes and I want a 30 cal. Within 75 yards 30 cal pellets will do fine on coyotes. The Compact Hunter is limited on power for a 30 but will easily develop 77 fpe with a...
