    Snowpeak Snowpeak M60B regulator

Is the symptom that the plenum pressure is climbing to the same pressure as the bottle? If so, the O-ring on the regulator's adjustment screw needs replacing. The Snowpeak regulator probably looks different than this example, but the adjuster is the brass piece on the bottom right.

    Air Venturi Noise During Pump

My standard Avenger makes a conspicuous squeak on each pump stroke when filling from a hand pump, so I suspect what you are hearing is normal. Side note, the check valve on mine started leaking a few weeks ago, and when I repaired it I swapped the check valve ball to a stem type and discarded...

    What pellets to order?

Accurate and inexpensive is a tough combination. Most of the low priced pellets I've purchased over the years have been disappointing but there are occasional lottery wins that keep me playing the low odds game. Lately, the best value I've found are the Norma heavies in both calibers (9.1gr...

    New 2240 Woes

Shot count is on the low side but it is highly dependent on both temperature and manufacturing variables. Pretty much always going to have to do some tweaking of hammer spring tension to improve shot count, or better still, make an SSG for it. Regarding accuracy, please advise on the...

Air Venturi Avenge x Replacement Regulator

If the plan to install an aftermarket regulator falls through, measure the Belleville washers with calipers and see about installing thinner ones. Or if the current arrangement consists of nested pairs (( )), you can switch to singles ()() to halve the pressure range.

Air Venturi Avenge-X .22 Barrel Concerns

Good news, that will do nicely. Just make sure it is a true round head, not a pan head.

Air Venturi Avenge-X .22 Barrel Concerns

I do. The workmanship of most airgun barrels leaves something to be desired. Inexpensive ones particularly so, and frequently even the expensive ones. Barrel crowning - brass screw method Barrel troubleshooting and accurizing for the DIYer Bore lapping

Maybe we can learn from San Francisco "Karens"

Air Venturi Air Venturi AvengeX FPS Gets Slower

Yes, both aspects are specifically related to regulated airguns.

Scope and Rifle leveling - flashlight and gravity.

Relatively small cant angles can produce meaningful error at 100 yards due to the loopy trajectory of pellets. For example, a gun zeroed for 30 yards shooting at 100 yards with a scope canted by 2 degrees will be off by about 0.6 inch. By comparison, canting the gun by the same 2 degrees will...

Air Venturi Air Venturi AvengeX FPS Gets Slower

This effect is usually indicative of having a little too much hammer spring tension. In other words, the gun is operating up on the velocity plateau and the velocity is highest when the reservoir pressure is highest, and gradually falls with the reservoir pressure. If you haven't already, try...

Scope and Rifle leveling - flashlight and gravity.

Please bear in mind that any scope mounting strategy which starts with a spirit level to level the gun is making a variety of assumptions about the perfectness of the gun, the scope, and the scope mounts. Granted, the result will almost always be better than eyeballing it, but not as certain as...

    Air Venturi Avenger Question

I only had a few different slugs on hand at the time, but mine would not group H&N in either .217 or .218, nor the FX Hybrids. Not even enough to be useful at short range (30y).

    lapses of judgment

Good example. I had something similar happen once...a gun leaked down to the point where the hammer pushed the poppet open and sent a pellet into the sheetrock wall it was propped against. Granted, it didn’t leave at full velocity but I wouldn’t want anything biological in the vicinity of the...

    lapses of judgment

Golf balls sending a pellet back at the shooter is a repeated theme over the years. One I didn’t anticipate was 10m shooting with a low power pistol (e.g. Beeman P17) with the target paper stapled to a plywood backer. Turns out a large percentage of the pellets come right back.

AirMaks Arms Caiman X .22 cal how to quiet This thing

Just FYI, one of the $30 infrared chronographs will do fine for basic PCP tuning. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098XJLHGT For example, I have two more expensive chronographs but I grab the clamp-on 9 times out of 10.

AirMaks Arms Caiman X .22 cal how to quiet This thing

Check that the hammer spring tension is adjusted properly. If it is set too heavy, the gun will expel more air than necessary and be loud as a result. https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/average-fps.1296116/#post-1559114

    Silicone oil

30W silicone oil is a good weight for hand pumps. I can’t comment on the preferred type for lubricating slugs. As far as using silicone to.clean a barrel, I’ve never even heard of that before. Most people seem to use Hoppe’s #9, WD-40, or Ballistol.

    Crosman 2100 Barrel Surface Rust

If it’s a real basket case, look into electrolysis rust removal. The nice thing about it is it will remove all rust, including in the pitted areas, and the reaction ceases when the rust is gone (will not remove good steel). Therefore it is okay to submerge the entire barrel but if that scares...
