    FX Wildcat consistency problems

Sounds to me like if it's not a hammer-strike issue it could be a bent valve-stem issue. .

    New 2240 Woes

Your results are to be expected with the ammo you're using, too fast shot cadence, and unfamiliarity with 2240s and Co2 properties. Shoot JSB domed pellets of 14.3 or 15.9 grains at slower cadence, and don't expect Euro quality from a sub-$100 pistol. The performance may well exceed the...

"She might be ugly .but she sure can cook".Well I got to be honest

I am usually a "form over function" kinda guy, but will occasionally compromise my high-minded priorities if/when function is inarguably outstanding. No, I'm not talking anbout "last call" situations; although they may not be impertinent to this discussion. But on a (semi-)related...

Sheridan Reuniting with a long-lost love

For many years pre-occupied with Field Target and Extreme FT competitions, my airgun arsenal has 'evolved' to reflect those priorities. Nevertheless I've kept my eyes and ears open for a nice Sheridan to fill an emotional, nostalgic void left from the theft of my seventies-vintage Blue Streak...

Crosman Crosman Model 167 Dual CO2 .177 CAL.

Having owned, tested and captured State Champion titles with both Crosman 160/167s, their Model 180/187 little brothers, and QBs, I respectfully disagree with your assessment that the QBs delivered significanly higher velocities and even better accuracy, TF. I consider them all equals in both...

Spring piston rifle scope not holding zero

Soft rest, to let that springer jump unimpeded. The harder the rest, the harder and more inconsistently that springer jumps off it. From my testing notes of over 500 airguns, including dozens of springers- 2/20/06 Shot a .25” ten-shot group at 30 yards with JSB Exacts from a soft pillow rest...

Spring piston rifle scope not holding zero

Assuming the Gamo Varmint springer is relatively powerful, no human can expect consistent accuracy results resting the fore-end on a block; even if all screws and connections are rock-solid. .

Tuning A tuning test for the experts

Having owned and tested somewhere around a thousand airguns of all kinds in the last 65 years, including probably a couple-hundred unregulated PCPs, for good 100 yard results you want an extreme spread of no more than 25 FPS. Less is better, but a 25 FPS ES probably translates to about 1/2" at 100.

Results July 5 TEXtreme Bench-Rest Silhouette Match Report

Some of us have missed our usual quarterly Bench-Rest Silhouette matches, that have been regulated to second-fiddle this season in favor of allowing more TEXtreme Field Target matches/practice for the 2025 TEXtreme Grand Prix and State Championships. Despite unfavorable weather forecasts we had...

    Texas folks

TEXtreme being located about 20 miles northwest of Waco, 4 miles from the Lake Whitney dam, we consistently dodge extreme weather events that peter out within 5-10 miles of us. That being the case (again), we had a nice airgun Bench-Rest Silhouette match yesterday/Saturday at the Central Texas...

Events July 5 TEXtreme Bench-Rest Silhouette Match Announcement

With the best forecast (Weather Blue) showing virtually no chance of measurable precipitation expected during tomorrow's Bench_rest Silhouette match, and a high temperature in the upper SEVENTIES, it's on! Being an amateur meteorologist and prophet, I'd speculate winds might also be a bit less...

Brocock/BRK Atomic XR I need some help from the BRK crew

Despite audible clues you mention, consistency over the chronograph would rule out velocity related issues like bad/blown breech seal, valve problems, and/or the power adjusting wheel. The .22 Sniper XR I bought brand-new wasn't accurate. A bore-camera revealed cavities in several places in...

    One shot, one kill

At only 36" overall, less than eight pounds, and a ten-shot bolt-action repeater, my .22 Brocock Bantam Hi-Lite 'semi bullpup' topped with a Japanese-made Weaver V-16 is not only my go-to pester, but also my 35 Foot Pound Class Bench-Rest Silhouette competition rifle and back-up Extreme Field...

Other More testing of the Gem

In packing for my African dangerous-game safari with the omnipresent goal of the most firepower return on size and weight investment 🤥, I came up with the perfect ammo can to fit in my 5" x 8"dangerous-game pistol case, without adding more luggage space. Said ammo can holds enough propellent and...

    Other Gk1 still best?

Some platforms really shine in specific calibers, but really suck outside their comfort zone. The GK1 and Revere are great examples. My .22 GK really hits the spot; literally and figuratively. 🥰 .
