I have a Zulus 5-20 LRF. I use it to hunt with day and night and that’s where it shines for me. Animals are crisp, especially at night. Also, I mount a One Leaf torch because it’s a much smoother night image with it as compared to the one on the Zulus. As soon as I use it to shoot paper further...
I've searched quite a bit and haven't found a good answer so apologies if this info is available and I missed it. Is there a degassing port on the RAW HM1000x? I have a 700cc bottle that I'm thinking of putting on it but don't see a degas port to completely depressurize the bottle before...
Hello all. Just wanted to share something I did to my V2T that was inspired by @weevil. Thanks for the information. I made a new poppet valve and stem but used titanium instead of steel for the stem and also filed 1mm off the diameter of the stem for 10mm behind the poppet. I used POM instead of...
Don’t take my post wrong. I think my Zulus 5-20 is a great scope, I like it a lot, but it’s more geared toward hunting. The image is really nice. But the OP asked opinions on how it compares to good optical scopes for group shooting. I took that to mean good glass scopes. I’ve shot it out to 101...
I’ve read your post on that mod several times. That’s my next project. Problem is, I don’t have any machining equipment and I’m not a machinist so I have to find a local that can do it effectively. Question, is the poppet just a pressed in interference fit or is it glued/epoxied.
Interesting choice of material for the poppet stem. I thought about a Titanium stem to reduce the weight and lessen the hammer strike needed. But our goals are different. I’m looking for as smooth and consistent shot cycle I can get, not so much a max effort. Keep us posted.
I think the Zulus is a great digital for the money but it’s not nearly as clear decent glass. It is pixelated at higher magnification. Maybe it would be better if the lighting is perfect? As far as a hunting scope, especially with the LRF, it would be hard to beat. But target shooting at...
Today I brought my Taipan V2T 700 .25 and Skout Epoch .25 with the 34.4” barrel to shoot a bit at 50 then 101 yards. Both shot heavy pellets and slugs really well at 50 yards. No problem grouping, even with heavy winds. The Skout with the Corbin slugs and AEA 33.95. I concentrate on Zan slugs...
Not sure if this helps being I have the .25 V2T with a 700mm barrel. But when I talked to Taipan about their regulators, they told me they send them out at 135bars because they found that to be the best all around setting for air consumption and energy. They made no distinction between barrel...
Man, that’s very nice! That’s sending them down range with authority too. I would ask why I can’t get my V2T to shoot that well but I already know the answer.
I’ve had very good results with Zan too. So far the best slug I’ve shot. 35’s were good, 37’s are great. Next I’ll try the 41’s. I likely just don’t know what I’m doing but It sure seems like this gun likes a higher reg pressure and a lighter HST. It gets good shot counts and it feels/sounds...
A friend of mine has a SW .25. Punched a lot of holes in paper and many squirrels, rabbits and wood chucks. No issues at all with the gun. One thing tho. He bought two extra magazines. When he used them, his FPS was a lot different a than the original and they would blow a little puff of air on...
First of all. Weevil, apologies for hi jacking your thread. Not my intent. MushroomPsyche, that is exactly the information I needed, including the info on the projectiles! Thank You very much! Oh, by steps I meant. HST adjustments.
