You can put a piece of tissue over the breach area to check if air is escaping when you dry fire or best to test with a pellet. Of course when done safely. Luckily you can give the oring a good visual (with a magnifying glass and flashlight) if replacing the o-ring is needed. Also I usually keep the bolt pulled back a little to keep the probe off the oring but keep the breech sealed when not in used. I don’t think lubing the o-ring help with accuracy. But it doesn’t change POI either. So I lube the oring just to make loading pellets into the breach smoother and quieter for the next shot.
