That is good a point Scott. The more variables in the equation the greater the chance of errors.
The telesopic shroud is solid with very tight tolerances. But I don’t recommend shooting with it half way extended. If you forget to extend it all the way it will eventually make its way to full extension, where it almost locks in place.
I have to agree with you:
If I were strictly using it for target shooting I would opt for a permanent shroud system. But for field work and hunting the telescopic shroud is simply awesome.
