I never shoot anything that might recoil the pellets back to the shooter. Golf balls are the worst. I realize that your cardboard face would stop recoil BUT when it gets shot up, any opening might allow a harmful return.

If you angled the hockey board instead of perpendicular that would help.

Thanks Don for the idea. 

I haven't had any come back through the 1/4" plywood and cardboard. I forgot to mention I stapled up a towel in the space between front and back for that reason.

The pellets make a small crater the fall down.

Good idea on angling puck board, maybe I can do a mini one.
