Common practice for manufacturers to replace rather than repair until they have a batch to go through then someone has to sell them.
Some have been returned for reasons like " it weighed tio much" some folks just seemingly test drive them & return.
Do check but you should still have a factory warranty so if you get a real lemon the factory likely would just exchange it for a new one.
Never tried a Hatsan refurb but have had RWS34's and Benjamin Marauders from refurb outlets and all were 100% , not even a mark on them except 1 34 that had been stamped "R"> .
GREAT deals on the semi-auto's right now amoung others.
Buy one.
