I own a G1 Caldwell with IR lighting and have used it indoors since I bought it. I ended up buying a USB cable to connect to my Android phone because the one that came with the unit didn't work. I have noted it gets errors at times and found that if I close the drapes and don't use florescent lights the errors are rare. I also try very hard to keep the pellets passing over the sensors at about the same distance both horizontally and vertically. If I vary too much in position I do get errors.

I was looking for a list of Caldwell error codes and found the following link that may help. The 7th post from the last reply caught my attention and my unit 'might' be one of those affected so I will be looking into that but the comments on too much or too little light could be worth looking into. In that post one guy drapped a towel over the units and got his to work.
