You did a great job! Image is clear, you have it framed well, and you were stable, not at all easy.
I’ve tried just about everything over the years, and moved away from the through-the-scope shots, except for pest control, in large part because of the hassle on game animals in the field. Once in a while will still do them, and have a mount that fits a lot of scopes with a couple camera options.
I’m in Texas right now for a hog hunt, and have my canon T6 DSLR, Vixia video cam, 2 Fuji XPs, and 3 gopros…….. Juggling that much gear comes with its own headaches.
For this hunt will mount the Vixiea on a tripod to film the animal, and sometimes brace on one of the legs to support my rifle. I set one of the Fuji XPs up on a lightweight tripod and leave that behind as I crawl along, hoping to keep in frame while moving into position. If hunting a trail or near a feeder or water hole, will set up a couple go pros and hope the game walks into view. I have a couple different sit on top scope mounts, and will often mount the other Fuji on that. The DSLR I keep with me and try to get close ups of the game before the shoot, and also use it for the color shots and stills.
looking forward to seeing what you do in future
The easiest and best approach is what I use for American Airgunner, it’s called a Clay………. He’s our cameraman and is a great videographer.
