The FX Impact power adjustment works by changing the HST unlike the Royale.
It’s definitely an adjustable transferport in 3 fixed settings. The HST remains the same.
The great air efficiency of FX guns is due to the floating hammer design, which decreases hammer bounce to zero.
Because the power adjuster sits right behind the valve, and the amount of air released by the hammer striking the valve, not all air can pass to the barrel if the TP is restricted. This also means less air is used for a shot.
Stock full power AA’s are pretty terrible anyway regarding air usage, just like other designs with a lot of hammer bounce (Daystate Air rangers without slingshot hammer, BSA’s, marauders etc. Etc.)
