Reply To: Close range pesting with wadcutters or HPs?
I’d like to second that emotion..(Smoky Robinson, anyone?). Using a small pump up 760, or light shooting CO2 gun, wadcutters work well on mice, rats, and small squirrels. For a more powerful Airgun, I’d always prefer Poly Mag’s. Crows and Devastators work as well, but are range limited due to accuracy.
Not to deviate from the subject, for putting down rats in a sticky trap, a wadcutters put into the chamber reversed in a 760 with three pumps is quiet, and considerable. All the warnings apply- there will not be a manufacturer, pellet or rifle, recommending or condoning this behavior, but… It works for me. Not for longer shots, but as a dispatcher to the great beond, they’ve been effective and rather gruesome.
Crosman HP’s are too hard to expand, at least on my soft, California rodentia.
