Reply To: MROD 25 CAL TUNED
The marauder was pretty much the first pre-charged released with just about everything user adjustable. Unless you are looking for say a 100fpe marauder ( I personally would get a power house if needing that ) you may well be able to make all the adjustments you need. Read a bit about it, your only dealing with striker/hammer spring pre-load, striker run length ( distance until striker contacts valve stem ) and the transfer port strangle screw. That’s all the adjusting for power, the marauder trigger is pretty well match grade but with a heavy torsion spring added, remove said spring ( the first 100 Marauder with “Match Trigger” did not have this spring).
Now you certainly will need a chrony and lot’s of pellets and air but if your a DIY type and enjoy such things it just takes a short amount of time. You might also read up on the bstaley (sp?) or o-ring tune but most .25 folks want their power and this “tune” may be best for lower power in smaller cal. ?
And if working on your airgun robs you of the pleasure “I” would seek out AJ or some other as well known person to fix it up.
Fun rigs, you’ll enjoy it.
