Received my first Athlon BTR 6-24×50 APMR mil scope and during inspection before mounting it found a bit of debris on the reticle in a bad spot. Visible around the 3mil holdover at 6x but not visibile above 18x. Called Sportsgear Optics, discussed and we all agreed it would be best to send it back. If it dislodged who knows when and where it could find its way back in view. Slight brain fart on my part looking for the forms to fill out on the Sportsgear web page, but discovered it on the Athlon page. They emailed the return authorization, I shipped out that scope and the replacement was on the way. Excellent customer service. Everyone I spoke with was helpful and if they didn’t have the answer, they found who had the answer. I will be doing business with them again.

Everything looked clear on the replacement, and onto the Marauder .25 it went. At 24x I could read the fine print on the target paper at 10meters in my basement range with the side focus wheel at 10 and a slight turn of the fine adjustment under the rear flip up cap. Punched the 930fps and measurements into chairgun for JSB Kings and walked it to point of impact for that range. I chose this particular reticle for all the hold over and windage dots and it being first focal plane. I have yet to get it out on a range to dial it in better for longer range since every day I’ve been free we have had scattered thunderstorms, trees falling, etc. However, I was headed out the door for a meeting and a ground hog happened to be in a prime low risk part of the yard. I grabbed the Mrod, dialed it to 50 yards where I estimated him to be. Looked at my range chart, found him at 6x, dialed up to what looked good. Didn’t bother to look at the magnification since it no longer matters with the FFP reticle, click, ship, set down the Mrod, and went out to burry groundhog.

I now will never own anything but a FFP scope. Thank you Athlon for a price point scope that works perfect for my needs. Yup, I’m happy with it.
