  • Got to the range, shot maybe 50 shots, and Pssssssss air constantly leaking out my barrel.
So valve clearly not able to completely close, several air shots did not help, that have once worked but no help yesterday, will replace entire fire valve with spare and overhaul.
Changed to the Maverick and kept shooting.
Picked up the huge haul of construction materials at the sign guys place yesterday.

Not going to be put to use anytime soon, CUZ the focus now is to get new heat source in shot shed installed, and insulate roof and wall behind heat source.
    Got the new oven.
    Got the new chimney.
    Got vapour barrier.
Need to modify shot shed rear wall a little due to where chimney will pass through it, no big deal though.
Have to make some fixtures to the chimney to hold it in place, but just one i think is needed, M8 have new welder and should be able to whip that up.

Also got some money to burn on insulation ( 50 mm for roof and 100 mm for rear wall )
Need to buy dry wall sheets for rear wall, the roof the insulation will be held up by thin fiber ( wood ) plates.

Hitting the ground running tomorrow, though also have to shoehorn in some pew - pew time, sadly my LRF have only made it to Bremen Germany 380 KM from where live in Denmark.
So will not get to play with that, i hope Tuesday / Wednesday will be the days for that, and probably more shed work.

Of course putting in new oven mean taking out old oven, even if they are not going to be in the same place.
In Denmark we have a saying, okay we have like a gazillion sayings, but this is one of those for wishful thinking.
And it goes ( translated literally ) If and If my " behind" is pointy.

Yeah. It do not make much sense not even in Danish, but it do rhyme a little in Danish.

BUT ! i do wish i was able to shoot groups like this at 50 M instead of the 10 I have shot here across my 2 room apartment.

    5 X 5.jpg

Not able to put any blame on rifle / regulator, it is doing just fine for the 25 shots., even if i could probably have gotten it a little flatter working the hammer more.
But seated behind rifle ( propped up on a PC tower case ) and sitting on a rolled up mattress ( thick one that go between the bed and the actual bed sheet you lie on )
Well my old body do not at all like a position like that any more.

This is just about the good speed for my CZ barreel pushing JSB Heavy pellets.
    REG at 47 BAR

    Screenshot_2025-09-04-15-57-41-267_com.android.chrome.jpg

Some times at 50 / 56 M with the same pellets it do sort of look like this, at least the most ragged group of the 5 above, but it is not a performance me and my rifle are able to keep up, so when i shoot groups it is often a good one here and then a little later a good one there.
Well my friend have gotten his permission and so picked up a Himicro alpex 4K lite with the LRF package.
Unfortunately for him he got it days after i took the rat, so he had to settle for a mouse that conveniently showed up as the idiot ( me ) had set up his LRF ASO.
CUZ M8 technically challenged, so this is a very big deal for him to deal with.

But today ( he got scope yesterday ) after he fixed the idiots wrong scope over barrel height entry, the rifle are now laying down the 13 gr JSB KO smack at any distance, or that is out to the 60 - 75 M where the performance of the Snowpeak M30 taper off.
And with the correct scope height, there is no misalignment popping up at longer distances. it would seem a scope height 20 mm off is also a big deal, at least when you get 20 M past the 24 M the zero is made at.

So the mouse he missed yesterday, it made the mistake of returning today, and again in the afternoon, so a daylight kill.

    Mickey.jpg

Now i am thinking i want to buy the LRF for my oneleaf scope,,,,,, but i really really want to wait with that until i can also order the big lens ( 10 X or whatever it is )

On my part, after SAT / SUN at the range, well again down a lot of ammo 2 X 400 13 grain Zan ( again ) about 200 20.5 grain NSA, about 300 16 gr H&H, my last tim of 10.4 JTS Deadcenters, and a few Heavies to finish off on CUZ i was not yet there.

    Also HUGE + today.
Having a new windscreen installed in my car, i took a walk while waiting, but did not get far, CUZ i saw a huge stack of interesting stuff at the neighbouring company’s dumpster.
So there was like 15 - 20+, 10 mm thick PVC plates and several 3 mm ALU and also a few steel plates.
All in a nice size CUZ it is a sign maker, so these old signs are nothing small, plenty of the 10 mm to cover our shot shed i think.
And the steel and ALU i reckon will do excellent for pellet traps in the oversized flavour i like so much.

Best of all talking to the guy, he was extremely cool and the price,,,,,,, 0 DKkr
Only one but, someone else is coming to take a few of the 10 mm PVC boards, but as i understood it it is not like a lot that guy will get.

So come next week, my M8 is coming with the big trailer and we score a major haul.

Okay seem like my M8 is enjoying his new toy, he just bagged 1 more at midnight / 3 minutes ago

    Nice score on free materials.
    So.

It have taken 8 months, but finally a rat showed up at my friends place, unfortunately for it, i was there too with all the bells and whistled needed for taking out things in complete darkness.

So it got a JSB heavy to the back of the brain and that assured a fairly short " dance of death "

    RRIP.jpg

Naturally i also enjoyed 2 days of plain old lead slinging.
So i am down 800 13 gr slugs - 350 16 gr slugs - 300 or so MRD pellets, and a couple of JSB heavy as aside for the rat i also shot a few pest slugs, slugs with the Danish name ( translated ) Killer snails.

New heat source for the shot shed en route, this coming winter should be pea shooting in even higher comfort, even if yesterday my friend examined the shot shed from a distance with his new thermal spotter, and fount it leaking heat all over ( we had the old oven on last night as it was only 10 deg C outside but a nice comfortable 25 deg C inside the shed )

Also a visiting FX shooter, well guess who had the things ( O-rings ) to get him going.
AND ! i am not even a FX shooter, at least my Maverick with the night scope see little action these days.
    Peashooter
Rats also a big problem here, unfortunately it is illegal for me to pitch in.
Or let me rephrase, it would be far too complicated for me to be able to pitch in, and also expensive CUZ even rats you need to shoot with a .22, so aside for the poison centric pesting course i would also have to acquire a hunting licence that would allow for me to buy a .22, which even for hunting as it is is overly complicated and not at all up to modern days scratch.

You will still need to memorise the legal hunting times for everything here, which is just stupid CUZ very few hunters here hunt everything.
And even Danes are smart enough to look up things on the interweb should they need information they do not have.
    Treefrog
Wow. That's even worse than california. It sounds as if you guys need to do a government reboot.
    Peashooter
Attitude reboot, over 1/4 of all working people here are public employed, very doubtful these will " bite " the hand that feed them.
I got my first education at what was then the National Danish railroads, after that experience i swore a oath to myself to never again work for anything public.
And really back then i did have a questionable character myself.
In case you have plenty of time ( 5 min or so )
And dont have super high expectations for your entertainment.

I might have a video for you.

    Featuring:
    The peashooting Dane
The new moving target " system " briefly.
Really not good pea shooting at 129 M distance with 13 grainers, before the video camera came out things worked much better, so dunno what happened here.
Also briefly featuring new DING target at 100 M, this do have to be reinvented as it have a design error.

Then some more splitting cards at 118M distance, with a twist ( revealed at the end ) compared to last attempt.

The 50 M pellet trap have now been fitted with pellet,,,,, and slug stopping powers.
I then put up a BR50M ( M as in Meters CUZ i use these yard papers on Meter distances ) paper and hit it "hard" with 13 grain slugs, and then after that i changed to 10 grain slugs and carried on hitting it, shooting at least 20 shots at the same " hole " to verify stopping powers, and the semi tire seem to hold up fine so far.
But i metal absolutely stop will probably be added soon, we will soon go metal shopping.

The BR50M paper hung sideways up CUZ this just a prelim test, the target holding contraption have not yet been installed.

    90 deg BR50Mpaper.jpg

Really i am no good at these BR fiddy papers, i will try them again later in the week shooting my pellet pushing Maverick instead.
If you are a female American 50 M / 3 position shooter, and want to take on the best from over there in EU ville.
Well you will have to go though Rikke then, CUZ she just took the European championship again in that discipline.
She can probably give quite a few boys a run for their money too.

    Rikke.jpg
    Rikke2.jpg
A couple of play & work days.

Play = slinging lead, even did some micro pesting.
While shooting some 2" splatter targets at 100 M, a fly did not see the no trespassing signs on my backing material, so after 30 - 40 warning shots, some uncomfortable close i am sure even if the damn thing did not flinch.
At one time i put a hole in the cardboard 5 mm in front of it and 5 mm behind it, and the damn thing just sat there taunting me.
I even finished my targets and moved on to other things, but then later i got back to it, and it was still there sitting astride a old hole to taunt me.
And so i finally managed to convert it into a hole.

    Flyswat.jpg

Also managed to whip up the " Lead" part of a lead trap up,
Next outing it will be equipped with lead stopping / catching material.
Put up at 50 M CUZ i do have a stack of BR50 papers, and there are room for 2 of them i think.

It will of course also be fitted with near miss reinforcements so it do not get all shot up, even if only accomplished shooters visit our range.

    its a trap.jpg
By the way i am now officially Manu loading my two, i got a batch of 4 18 shot Manu loaders made for the Two, and it have not taken long to get used to manually indexing the Magazine to have nice ammo insertion into the breech.

    2Manuloader.jpg

Work fine it seem, this is 10 shots at a already there hit on a steel plate at 100 Yards ( shooting 13 grain )

    100 M steel.jpg

    EDIT WEEKS AFTER POSTING:::::::::::
Just noticed i wrote 100 M, that is a mistake on my part it was just 100 Yards / 93 M.
Our range have two 100 yards target sets to satisfy the imperial inclined, really we should only do Metric but we are too kind.

I will end this post on a LOUD note.

I needed that taking my bottle all the way down to 150 BAR having a pretty good Ol time shooting 20 grainers out to 127 M ( using 130 BAR on the regulator )

No idea if the slugs still arrive out there sideways, but they do generally arrive pretty damn accurate all things considered, both H&N and Zan,,,,,,, AND of course NSA 20.5 grainers that do fly a tad slower at same regular setting ( tight fit )

Mind you i still favour the 13 Grain Zan slugs, but always nice to know the option for serious smacking power is there if needed.
+1200 slugs,,,, and pellets dispatched in 2 days at the range.

    Peashooter
I should probably add so there are no misunderstanding.

My group above are not a dead aim group, meaning i was constantly aiming at the POA, but me trying to make my shots land there, as things started to wander right and down my aim moved left and up a little and the left most part of the group is when my shots landed where i was aiming at the time.
Had i not corrected i am sure the shots would have wandered off the steel plate entirely.
I was constantly compensating CUZ only the first 3 shots seemed to be so bang on i could not really see the mark on the steel grow.
Sadly that changed and so i had to release my inner sniper.

Also as you can see by the background this was very late in the evening, past 10 in the evening, today the sun set at 22:09 in my part of the little country.
So shooting ( yet again CUZ i am addicted ) in the dying light.

    100 M steelB.jpg
Seem like trying to split playing cards at 75 M with a Maverick shooting Heavy pellets is too hard.
Tried hard for a while, only able to guesstimate from wind flags as impacts was not visible on the Oneleaf digital scope at full zoom.

I did put a "dent " in a single card but really with the number of shots fired to do that i could have split 5-6 cards at 118 M shooting slugs in my Two.

Taking the shooting into the night.
Can be done though with a scope only having 40 mm lens, well targets do have to be some size.
Also Hold as dictated by previous shot, well hard to do CUZ often you cant really see where previous shot went.

Still i managed to get the reset scope zeroed for 55 - 75 and 118 M ( new firmware update ) and get some shots off, though i started at sunset ( past 10 in the evening )
But a little later and i had to go full IR to throw it down.

Targets shooting gallery chalks about 30 X 10 mm visible, and then the 1.5" paddles on the little 4 paddle target.
    Distance 118 Meters.

So got around to test my DIY playing card holder today, and since the wind was sort of ok, well i decided to stretch it out.
So started out at 50 M, then moved to 75 M and finished off at 118 M which i think is a tall order as it took too many shots to cut the cards.

It was done alright, TBH i had little faith, but seeing as i cut the first 2 cards fairly fast i figured i would do the last ones too, and those really messed with me, seeing my slugs sail right past on either side, so even if minding wind ( CUZ if you dod not you would be like a inch if not a little more off )
It was a struggle and i think more luck than anything else.

Good fun though, i will for sure do this again, maybe for 118 M transition to a larger target like say Tic Tac mints or something like that.

The video LONG, even if i speed most of it up to 6X, so if you sit though it THX, if you do a little skipping well bless you.

    Peashooter
    Funny thing.
When i just take a bit of card out, and not least the back part of a card, i do not get how that is possible CUZ i make very sure the cards are facing the shooter.
In this video with the cardboard behind the cards, well i was barely able to see the cards at 50 M.
But at 75 with the TV as backing and even way out at 118 M the shade under the trees and grass made it much easier to see the cards even if a lot further away.
I had my M8 verify the card alignment CUZ it is important to get right or old crusty not at all fit peashooter will have to walk again.

I am actually amazed how many clean cuts i got VS what i have seen other do, not sure if using slugs have a say VS say domed pellets, the flat part of a 13 grain Zan slug for damn sure small.
Also amazed i was able to get clean cuts all the way at the back of the field, i would have bet against that, CUZ this after all is not the most powerful thing around.
Finally got around to shoot a little fire, however this time not the right fule ( gasoline + gasoline lamp oil mix )
There need to be alcohol in the mix ( not drinking it ) instead of gasoline.

Also it might have been a error shooting 13 gr slugs, i think it would be better shooting a larger head domed or maybe even wadcutter instead,,,,, new experimenting coming up.

Anyway we had fun, only 4K / 120 FPS video captured this time.

    The environmental factor is HUGE.

This is shot ( 55 M / 13 gr Zan slugs) in the daytime, with not horrible bad wind force, but not at all minding them / trying to read them.
Also at any given time +4 different wind directions indicated by flags, some times apparently a strong gust coming strait up out of the earth CUZ some times a flag would point strait up.

    bad winds.jpg

The remaining 4 dots on the same target shot 5 hours or so later when wind died down some, not completely gone though but A LOT less aggressive, and more of the wind indicators in the field pointing the same way.
Again here not minding wind or trying to read it, just shot from the zero, and then putting enough shots on each target to rule out the luck factor.

    moderate winds.jpg

As usual shooting my Epic airguns Two.
same weather today, and you can generally hold your shots on the black dots, but you damn well better pay attention to the wind.
If not, well your shot would easy be pushed 50 - 70 mm off course.
    I have visitors.

Forrest doves or as they are also called here ring doves, prancing around on my car roof with their dinosaur feet.
The distance is just 20 M or so, so very high chance of a bang on shot if i would take it.

But alas, it is just a stupid little car, though here as any car, a very expensive car.
But not something i am going to spill blood over.

On the other hand any hoomans with ill intentions in regard to my car, and i would spring into action like a jack in box as the law here could not be bothered with such small stuff.
But i can,,,,, be both judge / jury and executioner
While shooting, as usual one of the girls came prancing past the shed, today solo which is strange this time of the year a guy is usually close by.
They absolutely do not at all mind us shooting, even my friend with a not that quiet Snowpeak rifle.
Some times,,,, okay often you have to mind your shooting as they will gladly pick stuff out of the field behind where your papers are hung, so big chance of a unfortunate pass through which would of course be bad.

I had to suspend my 30 M stick pruning shortly after i filmed this. CUZ she was right there behind the stick.

    I remember getting my Maverick.
It came set to 90 BAR and would shoot 13.43 gr MRD pellets at 570 FPS at MAX hammer wheel setting.
The rifle is still the same aside for a dual transfer port, and micrometer hammer spring adjuster, even Hammer spring and hammer weight is the same.

    But now o_O
The regulated pressure are 40-50 BAR and i shoot 10.43 gr heavy pellets at 870 FPS
