  • I love to tinker and repurpose. I saw this thing standing in the weeds when we moved here and I avoided my wife's suggestions to scrap it. I knew I could make something useful out of it. I spent a couple years looking at it until I finally saw what it could be. I have a half acre of woods that I plan to clear and it will be done manually. I got more time than money.
I spent the past couple days converting it into a usable log drag trailer. I'll use it to drag the logs out of the woods to an area where I cut, split and stack firewood. I have new 10" run flat wheels coming for it and that's the only money I will have invested in it.

Pretty cold here this morning by lower Alabama standards. Trying to get out of the 20's and hit the predicted mark of 50 for today. Quick as daylight hits I'll head to the shop and get the woodstove fired up.
Had to do a motor swap on my Snapper Z360 zero turn. This is the second motor I put on this mower. I replaced the 18hp Kawasaki with a 23hp Kawasaki. The original motor was a 23hp B/S. I had to drill 2 of the 4 mounting holes in the frame plate.
Now I'm waiting on a hunk of 1 1/4" flex exhaust pipe because I had to relocate the muffler. That should be here today or tomorrow.

The flex pipe came and I got it cut and put on.. they only sent one U bolt so I have to wait for the other one to come tomorrow. Just putting the pipe and one on reduced the exhaust noise by 50%. The other one should reduce it much more. It will be ready for duty.

It's complete now. Runs and sounds great. I put new plugs in it.

That's great to hear! Congrats. I imagine that it will go a bit faster these days.

My log-splitter has 56 more CCs than my bike, but only a third of the horsepower. I guess two cylinders with four valves each and a 13,000 rpm redline make a difference.
