When installing a scope ring on a springer, utilizing a stop pin, is the ring pressed to the rear or front when torqueing the mounting screws? Thanks

Butt up against the Rear. Unless you're using it on a raised scope rail then it's in front of the entire rail like the RWS.

If it's a UTG or similar mount- ring with threaded adjustable stop pin, butt up against the rear of the stop hole tighten the dovetail clamp Semi snug then tighten the stop pin till it gives enough tension to barely creep that dovetail grip them cinch that dovetail screws then unscrew that stop pin add 2 globs of nail polish in that threaded scope ring hole to go to all the way down to the bottom of the rifle stop pin hole then screw that stop pin clinched. Wipe excess mess before it dries. Mount scope after dried.

I'd guess that no matter what, the stop pin is gonna find its own happy place. I wouldn't get too concerned about it.
