Other Multi pump rifle opinions

I grew up on a farm with Crosman 760 n daisy 880 with copperhead bbs from a milk jug 30 plus years ago. My kid showed me some pcp videos n now I’m hooked again. My compressor died month long fight to get vevor to do anything about it. Made wonder about the old days of pumping. Looking for opinions on good longer range or just sturdy pumpers.

Not sure what you mean by long range pumper. Unless modded most fall in the 12 to 14 fpe range.

Used:
Sheridan
Benjamin 392/392

New:
Seneca Dragonfly
Crosman 362

Personally I consider all of these to be 10 to 20 yards rifles.
Like to get 50 to 60 yards. Like I said it’s been 30 plus years. Just looking for personal experiences or opinions on pumpers. When my pump dies again I can still keep the chipmunks in line😉

IMO, that is not going to happen except by luck with a multi-pump. Or for that matter a spring rifle. That is PCP territory.

Get an Umarex Komplete for $150 off eBay. If you’re not gonna shoot high volume then it’s fine. The nitro canisters are easy to find. It’s not pellet picky and it does close to 30fpe in .22…. It’s also wildly accurate.

Some MSPs can do fifty yards pretty well. See the attachments for more details.

.

I have a vintage Benji 397 that has quite a few squirrels taken as far as 35 yards with 10.5gr pellets. The Williams aperture sight really helps and as I search for a .20 cal vintage pumper to add to my small MSP collection, I've been looking for ones that come ready to mount the Williams sight.

I have the new Crosman Vapormax, $120 from AR. It is a great pumper for the money but it is really a 30 yard rifle.

A Sheridan is going to cost $400 to get started.

If you want to shoot long range it will take about $500 on an entry level PCP, scope, rings, pellets and a hand pump to get started. I suggest a .22 Stoeger or Benjamin.

Good Luck!

What is the steroid upgrade. You have my attention
The steroid upgrade is a makeover to the valve/chamber and an adjustable pumping system. When completed it allows up 15 pumps that totally exhaust upon discharge. Also, it makes pumping easier. I’m not entirely in the know of exactly what it entails. Not certain who even does it anymore. It’s quite expensive. Around $300 with shipping both ways the last I knew.

Nooyen , your going to get lots and lots of answers saying that is PCP territory and yes 60 plus yards is easier with PCP .
I have a Sheridan ,20 and regularly shoot 30 and 40 yards with enough to kill squirrels . Don't know any farther out than that .
Dragonfly pumpers have trouble with the pump arm linkage , but i think a lot of that is caused by pushing the gun to hard .

This is my 392 Steroid. I did not build it. Picked it up (cheap) on AOA’s “used” website. Someone with a lot of love for this gun invested better than 1K in building it. It’s the deluxe Steroid upgrade including scope grooves and knurled bolt knob. Then a Steve Corcoran “Custom“ stock. So, you could build something special if you don’t mind spending the $.

Please excuse me for all who have seen this before.

I wouldn't excuse you for not posting it. What if AGN had a daily "pin-up" photo, rotating through the fine guns posted on this site? More likes = greater probability of it coming up again soon, something like that?
