Made in Spain--Crosman 14.3s

Always looking for CPHPs at Walmart. Like normal they didn't have any. What they did have was a crossman premiere pointed pellet. Of course it was made in Spain but for $3.99 I'll give a them a try.
Weight wise they're supposed to be 14.3 grain, I checked about 15 or 20 pellets all weighed 14.3 to 14.4.
They're supposed to be pointed pellets and the outside of the tin shows a very pronounced point. They look more like a rounded off h&n barracuda.
Very clean no shavings at all inside the tin, not dinged up at all.
To answer the million-dollar question; how did they shoot? A lot better than I thought they would. 15 yards indoors, three power red dot site and all holes are touching. Just like I would expect from CPHPs. As soon as the weather breaks I'll try them outside but that might be a while.

So far the gphp .177 ( thats stands for Gamo Premier Hollow Point)

Do pretty dang good i even think there sizing / uniform is better then the crosman usa were . So in .177 im satisfied in the spanish ones . To add the spanish Daisy hp's in .177 did pretty good in my stuff as well .

No gphp in .22 last i was in Walmart but he said probably on the pallet in the back to be put out if the .177 were in on the shelves already.

Cant wait to grab them next ..lol

I still have not seen them locally, but have not gone out of my way to get some. When I find them or do a pellet order I'll have to get some. I want to compare them to the made in the USA counterparts.

I did with my 3622 and both Urbans. I had sighted the rifles at 20 yards zero with the old CPHP. I found that the made in Spain CPHP landed to the left and slightly up about .5 inch and grouped well. The 3622 the impacts shifted about 3/4 inch to the left. Returning to the old CPHP the three rifles shifted back to the original zero. I noticed the skirts are thicker on the Spanish made pellets. I did not check velocity.

We have decided that pointed pellets don't work for my friend's Diana springer, or any of my PCPs when shooting just under 1,000 fps at silhouettes to 160 meters. Opinions open to change, of course.

I am curious as to the distances you shoot the pointed pellets.
The crosmqn ( usa) pointed that are more semi pointed do good in .177 in the beeman r9 .

Other pointed thats more sharp pointed i never han luck with them in anything over 600fps . Then mostly was used in co2 or cock qnd shoot type pistols .

The cheap daisy pointed .. well there so bad i have to inform my neighbors and contact the space station when i dhoot them the flyers are that bad ..lol.

Best i can remember in .22 i jad to get some get by ruger pointeds at Walmart once .. they were pretty sad as well..

I ordered a tin of the .22 Crosman pointed to try, as am always open to learning. None of the many pointed pellets either of us has tried has been able to stay on a 2" square target board at 100 meters. It would be great if these had better BC and accuracy.

These pellet shot pretty decent under 925 ft per second. I don't know if I'd really call these pointed. H&N has some pointed pellets that come to a point, these are more rounded. So far the only gun that they did not shoot well in was my Caiman. But in all fairness that gun is set up to shoot 18.13s.
I am curious about your laughter response. What have I overlooked?

I'm not offended, just think I've missed something....which isn't unusual online or at the range. ;-)

100m/100y... Ya i doent ever see that happing. Depending on gun and more a hunting pellet 20y comfortable max . The crisman hunter semi pointed in a hw/r9 i could do 50y . Sharper pointed aint happining .. . ( Just my experience)

Like you i also had to buy and try to know whats what fir my useages ..lol

Good luck

Can anyone explain why this is amusing? What am I overlooking?

According a Crosman vendor we talked to at the Pyramid Air Cup, they are in the process of shipping all the original dies and presses to Spain. Once they are up and running, all pellets will be just like before.
Thanks. That's what I hoped. The Spanish ones seem to be quite functional. My FX DRS made 2-1/2" group @ 100 yards in bad light, weird winds, and old, incompetent shooter.

*Edit: If you noticed the mention of old, incompetent shooter in the original post, you will understand why "3-1/2" group" needed correction to "2-1/2" group".
