HW/Weihrauch My next HW is finally here! Jump to end.

Two weeks ago I agreed to buy a lightly used and tuned 177 Hw50. I've wanted one for a while to lower the power and put peep sights on. Thanks to USPS only 13 short days later my check finally arrived in the state next door. USPS has been friggin terrible lately. I could have hand delivered the envelope crawling on my belly quicker. In any event, I'm more excited about setting up this rifle than any in recent history. It's perfect timing too. My shop is going up and it's my 60th birthday.

Notice Dodge (my dog) has claimed the shop as his already. Thanks for letting me share my excitement.

Be well all,
Ron

That looks like it will be quite a nice shop. What a great birthday gift to yourself. I’m looking forward to following your adventure with the HW50. I also bought one earlier this year for the same purpose. I haven’t played with it much yet but my goal is to tune it down to about 9-10fpe and make a fun plinker and silhouette rifle.
Kenny
Oh, bye the way… HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A few years back I sent a FWB to David Slade for reworking, This was at or near the beginning of the COVID crisis. He does not take credit cards, so when it was finished he sent me a notice and I slipped a check into the mail and it took six weeks for it to get to him. It was no problem for me, as It was over the Christmas holiday season and I asked him to delay shipment until a couple of weeks into the new year to avoid the holiday shipping rush, again no problem he and his wife had contracted covid and were isolating for a period of time and shipping personnel would or could not pick up and deliver to him. I finally got it back after about 3 months, but was informed of what was going on the whole time I was amazed at the time it took a first class piece of mail, just an envelope with a check inside to reach him.

That's funny, this incoming new to me Hw50 was tuned by David a few years ago. I'm looking forward to shooting it and see what it does. I may not have to do anything but put sights on this thing. That'd be a neat change for me.

That's essentially my plan. I have a Tech sight (Peep) left over from my 22 HW50 waiting on it. It will be a slightly bigger and slightly more powerful version of my favorite rifle. My peep sighted HW30.

Happy Birthday good looking shop ( I bought an HW50 a few weeks ago but taking delivery at the NC air gun show )

Hey Ron, Happy Birthday !! IS that a shop for working on airguns, model planes, and reloading plus and indoor range!!! LOL.. Your catching up to me!! Only I dont have that scene in my backyard!! Let me know if Gwen would like a fig plant for that property! he he
Upstairs there is going to be a 30x20 guest quarters. My 15x20 shop is gonna be underneath it. The building will have garage doors at both ends for pull through easy access to everything. We've been waiting three years to get this done. So far I'll have to do all the interior work.

It came today. I know in the world of high end springers this is a pretty mundane item but I'm EXCITED! The gun is like new on the outside and definitely tuned inside. It's from the same era I like as my other 177 Hw50, so I'll have twins. Even without chronographing it I can tell it's definitely full power. I'll probably leave it cocked for a week and see if it softens. If not I'll start clipping coils..
I'm stoked!
