Long barrels are GOOD !!!! Easier to make power and correctly valved with low dwell are much quieter than short barrels.
Yes Pups can achieve this and end up shorter .. But, short guns are harder to stabilize / hold steady than longer guns.

Simply no free lunch here ... it's a long gun and IS what it IS.

Agreed on long barrel advantages. Not a fan of the super short pups. Maybe Crosman will consider making a pup version with a long or take advantage of the layout to add an even longer barrel.

Assembled in USA would be my guess, parts & pieces likely a more global venture ? ( Turk would be a strong guess )

The shroud goes to the length of the barrel just shy of the threads which will allow you to thread right on to the barrel and shoulder on the shroud. so no cutting needed unless you shorten the barrel. However, you will need something to center the barrel in the shroud on that end if you are not using the factory moderator. I do agree the DFLs are the best in the industry!!

The stock is made with polymer/glass filled nylon material. the stocks on these prototypes were off tooled samples and for first shots they looks pretty damn good. Just some minor sink marks to work through processing once production starts.

The designer just told me on another forum (HAM) that the moderator is NOT bonded. No worries there.

That is great news. From what I gather in these concurrent threads is that the moderator is what supports the muzzle end within the shroud rather than that stripper inside the current M-Rod shroud at the muzzle. The moderator is dual purpose. So any aftermarket device will require an adapter that is machined to support the shroud and muzzle and then with 1/2X20 threads. Which should be no issue in doing so. Just reading between the lines a little.

I appreciate the feedback. I am glad to finally have this rifle out there.

The barrel is threaded. If you want to keep the shroud, you will need a spacer. If you don't want the shroud, you can leave it off or sleeve the barrel with a carbon fiber tube and attach your moderator.

Thanks . It is a full JSAR rifle. Accurate and powerful and it gets 16+ shots on the reg at 60 fpe! And it is light and compact. Also a bit noisey with no suppresor wound on. Which does not bother me at all as I have no noise issues or neighbors close enough to worry over.

I do not think my current M-Rods feel threatened by the new kid. I am sure they will take it in stride. I understand some in the FX world sell off their old guns to get the new gun but I am not sure that is universal. I will want the G3 for what it is and can be and my other few air rifles will continue to do what they are good at. And that particular Gen 2 rifle is compact, light, and deadly (for an air rifle).

And, if for some reason I change my mind on the new M-Rod, well, I guess there is the Blackwolf. Crosman/Gamo, please make this a nice rifle, even if it costs a few dollars more and please continue with decent support. Otherwise I could go get another Gauntlet or a Zelos and pound dirt when I need support.

One thing, I guess not a big thing. But I at first hated the Maruader double trigger safety. And now I love it above all others. I guess the safety is going to be a push button. Oh well, I guess I can deal with it.
