Do you change benches for each card ? I would think that would lessen the burden of a perceived poor bench . But yes a lot of time so probably not .

Michael - you asked the AGN community what they think. It seems to me that the subject of shooting more cards in the annual BR 100 yard finals has been repeatedly coming up every year. Mike gives good reasons for doing so, but hopefully many feel the same.
So , if the organizers of EBR, RMAC , PYA, etc are watching this thread, why don’t you change the formats of your events to include having shooters shoot three finals cards to really see who are the best shooters. It works for N50 and other BR disciplines, why not yours? You guys have all the justification and reasons for changing the format.
In fact, why is there not a poll of the AGN community to vote on it? Instead of jamming in too many events, why not focus on the main event - 100Y?
Time for a change maybe, but a poll with voting yes/no would at least validate or not.

I think it boils down to time constraints, the events listed are not BR only events. They incorporate Field Target, speed, big bore pmc depending on the listed matches. At PA cup field target is two days with 4 hours or more to complete the courses, toss in speed and bench over 3-4 days for 200 people, where are you going to find the time to add more cards ? It was great they ran 2 card finals. But unless it's a bench only event, I don't see the time to run more ?
I've attended all 3 of the listed matches several times and there is usually not a lot of down time between events. 7am to 7pm at some of them.

No, I understood the time management challenges with having multiple events. Thanks for articulating. At least two cards were used in the finals.
It appears that the major sponsors holding these annual air rifle events feel justified in keeping multiple events in their existing format. Additionally, if a majority of the usual 150-200 participants continue to want this content, then it’s understandable.
I do wonder if there might someday be a benchrest only event?

Sounds like for 100 BR, Nicolay won and Thayne second. Bill Squillace was 3rd and James Sharp 4th.
Barb Pellegrino won Hunter FT. Very impressive! Tony Pellegrino took 3rd in Piston FT.
That’s all I have seen.
What do you all think about Nikolay using 70gr .30 (I think that’s what they are) pellets he made? He says they are “mass produced” but are they? He says, obviously due to governmental sanctions on Russia, he cannot import these to the USA. He does still bring in moderators and bipods to sell though

Makes me wonder how many people would not show up for a BR only event ? Wonder if their is a way to count the people that came for a certain event / not bench rest ?

It just needs to be a separate event if they want to do more cards. I am not a paper shooter to me it is boring and I don't wanna do it. I have never been to one of these events I would like to go and I would shoot bench just because if I was going to do the experience I'd do it all but it wouldn't be the reason I would go. I don't care for speed I like EFT and I would probably do FT again. I would just go to see what it was like and probably just once. I had signed up this year for EBR but due to family issues I can't go. But I'm betting you would probably lose some yes. How many I don't know. I shoot F Class 22LR and some center fire and that is paper but to me it is fun because once you start shooting for score you can't shoot go back and shoot sighters.

I am planning to go next year but just as a spectator / shopper . i am not a competitive shooter . slow relaxed precise is my game . Yesterday i shot a 5 FPE 10 meter rifle @ 50 yards ( 5 MOA hold over on a 1.25 inch spinner target ) sort of ELR .177

Oh I like to see how people do that I know through this forum or have shot with like you Derrick but I'd rather shoot steel any day of the week. From what little I've watched a bench competitions in 22LR and Center fire everyone's trying to get away from being a part of the gun because they know that interferes with the shot process and affects action or accuracy and I'm just the opposite I want to be a part of it just squeeze in the trigger lining it up in my scope to me is not why I shoot. I'm not knocking anyone that loves it but for me trying to take the shooter out of the equation defeats the purpose of why I shoot. F Class about it for me for paper lol

I know he is super dedicated and one of the best in the World with Airgun Bench shooting. I’m not taking that away and congrats to him. Now, are his pellets actually following the rules? Opinions please

And good for Nikolay to be innovative and produce something new. Can I and use a new .30 66gr of my own design? Maybe I can produce just enough for Team Centercut. Is that enough “mass production” to qualify?
The powers that be should obviously know that competitors would question this. What is their verdict on it?
