Tuxing twin cylinder compressor Tank Fill time

I've had my tuxing twin cylinder about a year now. It has been great so far. The last time I topped off a 6.8L tank it seemed a little slow to me. So today I timed it. To go from 3000psi to 4400psi took about 12 1/2 minutes.
My question for anyone else with the same compressor is how long does it take for you to top off your tank?

High pressure side orings and Reed valve fouling are typical culprits regardless of the make. This is part of the reason I chose to use the crazy expensive real dive compressor oil in my 4 cyl tuxing(carbon deposits and impurities) , which has also gotten a smidge slower but not enough to warrant a disassembly.

Before buying the twin i had a Yong Heng. That lasted about a year before I noticed it slow down on fills. Then i bought a new piston assembly, and repaired it for $20, while using my new twin. The yong ran like new again and it became my backup in case this twin dies.
I did find both high and low piston assembly for the tuxing twin on ebay, but they are $40 each plus $10 shipping from China, that's not bad but im assuming there will be an import tariff.

You can order dbl cylinder parts from them directly, and it usually takes between 1-2 weeks.

Im running triax synthetic oil, have 2 fans blowing across the heads, and a high flow water pump. I have done everything I can to try and extend the life, but it seems its slowing down a little. I have definitely gotten my use out of it but I was hoping it would last a few years

How long have you had the 4 cylinder tuxing? How has it been? That seems to be the next step up from what im using.

I've had it a couple years and it's been great. I just put a big canister of molecular sieves in front of the air filter and it's been truly great. Just don't buy the 110v version unless you have a didicated circuit that can handle 30 or preferably 40 amps. I wish I'd gotten the 220v version or a gas one. Which mine will get converted to at some point.

It may just need the reeds or check valves cleaned. Otherwise a rebuild shouldn't be too terrible.

My history with my TXEDM042 has been about a year between high side ring replacement. I use my compressor most weekends topping off 2 or 3 of my 9L tanks and occasionally the 2 6.8L. So I use it probably more than most.

But top off on my 9L 20-25 minutes 3000-4500psi. When I note it is getting to be more than 25 minutes I change the rings.

Thats good to know that replacing just the high side rings will probably bring a slow compressor back up to speed. I found a 10 pack of rings for $9.99 on Amazon, so its definitely worth trying that before digging any deeper. Thanks

That's the best way to preserve the Hi pressure head. I just change the whole piston rod with new rings, and piston. That first ring is not worth the hassle. It’s only $20 from Tuxing and it lasts a long time. I usually change the low pressure reed too. Then it's back to normal. Super fast, and cheap process, I have a TXED012 that's a few years old, and I use the hell out of it lol. I also recently purchased a TXEDM041 for travel.
