Head shot thread

It is funny with my friend, when he had his stone age barely see anything NV scope he was often head shotting, but now he have a fine Alpex lite it seem like he have transitioned to hitting in the other end.

Mind you the prey ( ATM little mice ) they still drop right away, and the aftermath pictures have most of the inside on the outside.
On the little mice, the 10 gr MK3 KO slugs, seem more devastating then the same in 13 gr, with the mouse often barely in 1 piece.

But i understand taking the shot fast CUZ these little mice are often in turbo mode and barely sit still for a single second.

ATM my M8 would dominate a butt shot thread.

It is this or having them in his house, this year he have caught 5 in traps in his bedroom closet, which have like 10 traps on the bottom of it.
Turning on the gas grill, some times also result in a surprise, though that is mainly rats to blame for that.
Great shot and video from your friend! Looks like a vitals shot that traveled out it's nether region....😂👍.

Notos, 23gr 218 hn slug. 660fps. 28y.
If he hadn't turned his head at the last second it would've been between the eyes. Oh well. Into the low brain, through the neck out the shoulder. View attachment 593253View attachment 593252
I've been shooting my notos tuned way down. Was shooting 20.86g JSB's @ 376fps / 6.5fpe and just started using 11.9g RWS Wadcutters @468fps / 5.8fpe and one thing I noticed is at that speed your target definitely has time to move around before the pellet (slug) hit's em and I'm only shooting that at 15yds in the backyard so 28yds shooting 660fps definitely they have time to move between the time you pull the trigger and they actually catch the round. Good shootin

My notos is giving me 3fps spreads with a 1fps SD. Out of the box. Its mind boggling. The only way im adjusting velocity is heavier lead. It just happens to shoot the .218 light HN and javelins really well out to 30y. And yes, watching the slugs fly in feels like an eternity for the target to pull a Neo.

Thank you. Ive set up a "table for one" - or three in my backyard. A happy squirrel stuffing its face is much less twitchy than one that's foraging

For the money I think Notos is definitely an awesome little pcp. I keep getting temped to mod it out but I keep fighting the urge but now I saw the CRC Plenum and I might break down and get it. And it is crazy how tight the spreads are even with the tuned down I'm getting the same, crazy low spreads. The worst are the wadcutters I think they're smaller in diameter than the others.
