I got this idea from forum member AGN225. It's something that his club does with it's members. Since I only have a 30 yard range at home this game is something I can do in my backyard. The idea is to set up all 20 silhouettes at 20 yards and also at 30 yards. The shooter will shoot ten shots at his choice of targets at each distance for a total of twenty shots. The silhouettes each have a point value (chickens 4 pts, turkeys 3 pts, pigs 2 pts and Rams 1 pt). To make it work on paper I designed a target with two rows of silhouettes. One row is shot at 20 yards and the other row at 30 yards. The shooter gets ten shots at each distance and may shoot any target he wishes. On paper the shooters must limit themselves to no more than five hits on any one animal in each row; the same as if you knocked down the actual silhouettes. The highest possible point value would be if you place five hits on the chickens and five hits on the turkeys in each row for a total of 70 points. If a pellet breaks the line of the silhouette then it counts as a hit. I gave it a try today and scored a 47. I elected to go for the chicken and the turkey at twenty yards and then the pig and the turkey at thirty yards. That thirty yard turkey gave me problems. I blame the turkey as it couldn't possible have been my fault
. I shot this with my Walther LG400 and H&N Excite Econ II pellets. I shoot real steel silhouettes several mornings each week. It will be fun to shoot these paper targets once in a while to provide me with a true visual of my progress. If anybody would like to have the target file just let me know.
