Coyotes with the .357

Ive gone out with the Mrs. A couple times this month looking for coyotes to hunt. We both have successfully shot one each with the AEA HP MAX .357. Mine was taken with the fx 69gr hollowpoint and hers was with a NSA 125gr hollowpoint. My coyote was around 40 yards while hers was 80. Both slugs did their job and honestly couldn't tell a difference between either when it came to damage.

Anyone else have an aea hp max in .357 and have you had any issues with the breach o ring? Ive had 2 blow out and break now and both have been at a fill pressure between 4k and 4200. I shoot and have been shooting 3600psi, its rated for 4500 psi. Any input would be appreciated.

I really like the airgun especially the size of it and the accuracy and power but because of the breach o ring i am hesitant to purchase the 45 or the 50. Anyone with either please give input

The AEA's is most series have had one issue or another. The bolt or side cocking ones usually being the most reliable ones. I've seen the 45's blos the plastic lid from the magazine. Never heard any issues with the challenger, challenger elite, or the Zeus variant.

Ive actually owned a challenger bigbore .357 bullpup and i loved the thing. My wife developed a leaking valve and i had to take time off work and sold it unfortunately to pay the bills. That and a bulldog. Both worked flawlessly

Hpss series had some seriously under thought valve poppets for a while. Rookie design flaws.

As for blowing out the breech orings, I'd try measuring and sourcing something slicker and harder if I was in your shoes. And if it still blew it out I'd probably clean the journal with some alcohol and put a little automotive rtv in the journal and install the seal and wipe it clean before it cured..... If i got that mad. I am known to crowbar things into kind of working how I want sometimes tho. If you're a car guy, shoot me a dm and I can show a crowbar part I made for a specific transmission.

We really haven't been trying to get any as our deer bow season just started but went a couple days to mix it up. I got a really nice wide 2 pt with eye guards and she still has yet to fill her tag. Walleye fishing about a month ago and I probably seen over 20 along the river bank of the columbia river while trolling. Makes me wanna bring the airgun next time. Hopefully u start knocking them down. The puppies arent educated yet 😉

I seriously thought about using red rtv to see how it held!!! I just had to put another one ring in this Tuesday.
