RTI Well… the mora is amazing, my wind reading not so much…

Decided I wanted to try pellets out of the mora (.22 600mm)… so far it was on a slug only diet but given the results people post with pellets I thought why not. Anyway, degassed, reg down, aired up again and off we go.

Tried AEA 25.3gr from 905 all the way up to 980 and what can I say… not good. Maybe could have tried to make them work but initial results were so bad that I didn’t want to spend the time. Anyways, targets shot at 70y, filmed with an iPhone through a vortex crossfire HD 20-60 spotting scope:

AEA 25.3gr:

Went ahead to try AEA 22gr, set the rifle to shoot them at 965ish (my go to starting point with them). Didn’t clean the barrel and just clicked the scope to where I thought it should be… Seems like I had a small window at the beginning with no wind so you get an idea as to what the rifle is capable of… after that the wind picked up on and off. It wasn’t much, 2-3mph but switching direction a bunch. Didn’t hold for wind until the last group, just aimed center to see what it does. Also had an open tin of 18gr on the bench and accidentally shot two of those as well (the two shots going in to top right corner of the bull top left and bottom left).

More for ya… no video this time but deciding whether I’ll go back to slugs or not is getting harder and harder… conditions pretty much the same, just put up two flags this time. Shot at 70y and fiddled a bit with reg and dwell, basically following JoePolanco’s recommendation to bump reg a very small amount (digital gauge not registering the change so 0.x bar adjustments) and close dwell a minute or so for every reg adjustment to keep speed where desired… well, it helped:

Seems like there’s always one getting away from me :) the two 0.9x are evidence that I still don’t know how to handle swirls I guess… ah yeah and just for the curious: bipod and bag, somewhat wobbly Caldwell stable table lite and Athlon Ares 4.5 - 27 (Gen 1).

Forgot to start the chrony from the beginning but got most of the shots recorded (AEA 22gr):
