AEA pellets have given me a couple 200s this year in the 30 yard challenge. I shot 18.3s in my 22 caliber Bullshark. I shot 21.9s in my P35-22. I started with a little 250 count in in both cases and had a 200 before I finished the tin. The replacement 21.9s seems to shoot just like the initial small tin. But the larger tin of 18.3s I'm shooting right now are not shooting nearly as well. Upper 180s and an occasional 190+ instead of pretty consistent 195 plus. I think FX 18.1s would out shoot this tin. I need to try the other large tin of 18.3s. I tried sorting the first one for head size and it did not fix it.
I still like AEA pellets. I bought some more small tins of 18.3s and they seem to shoot well like the first small tin. But I wish I didn't buy 500 and possibly 1000 so-so AEA pellets. I have not had this happen with H&N or JSB pellets. But I haven's had any H&N or JSB shoot this consistently well.
I've been shooting H&N 18s in my Caiman. I think they shoot a little better than AEA 18.3s (not sure which tin, probably the new so-so one). But I decided to try AEA 21.9s. This gun did not like heavier JSB or H&N pellets. But it seems to really like the AEA 21.9s. Still need to try it on a 30 yard challenge target.
