The Daystate Alpha Wolf SHADOW!

I shot a friends Umarex Gauntlet last week. It felt enormous. I like the compactness of the Shadow. Smaller bottler, smaller barrel, smaller price? I am optimistic that it will have a smaller price?

Smaller maybe in relation to the price daystates normally carry, which is most often so tall i will have to pass even if i am somewhat infatuated with these.
But probably way past Gauntlet price.

Yeah beautiful gun for sure and I love the platform having a DW and a 2nd DW converted to an alpha. The idea of a compact model is great. The price certainly will keep me away from this one. A like new used AW or DW can be had for 1700-2k so it’s nearly impossible to justify (at least for me) any new form of the gun.

I generally look at guns from a hunting perspective. Many airguns falls in between 2 chairs. The Shadow Wolf in my book lacks the power and are too heavy. If the upped the power but kept the barrel short then it might be "ok". THe weight with the mandatory scope will end up in 3,6-3,8 kg which I think is on the slight heavy side for a woodswalkers gun as I see it. Here the Revere is a better choice. Daystate should make a gun purely from a stalking perspective. Lightweight like 2,4-2,5 kg unscoped with airtube but has the power like +35 ft/ibs in .177cal or +50ft/ibs in 22cal or 70 ft/ibs in .25cal and no more than 37-40" overall lenght. In all calibers it should stabililze the heaviest ammo possible for the caliber. Here a high shotcount is not needed. As a owner of the Daystate Revere and a Blackwolf they serve different purposes. The Revere is still for stalking and the BW is for more stationary position.
